Recap
We must View and interact with people with the correct filter…
A filter of reconciliation
A filter of mercy
Jesus taught us how we treat others is how God will treat us (Show slide again)
This can only be accomplished by not being a hypocrite
Dealing with your log - Will deal with your heart / Eyes
How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.
Remember… God wants us to see clearly (Correct Filter) To help take out the speck that is in our brothers eye.
How do we deal with the log?
How do we avoid being a hypocrite?
How do we practice what we preach?
Jesus has a question for us....
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?
Why do you call me “Master”
Why do tell me that I’m your everything?
Why do you tell me you can’t live without me?
Why do you call me your king?
You post about me…
You wear shirts about me…
But.... You do not do what I tell you!
It’s a contrast between hearing and doing…
This next verse is powerful!
It’s a picture of the life of the believer.... The true image of Christ
A picture of a person that has dealt with their log/heart
Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like:
The key to a successful spiritual walk…
#1 Comes to me…
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
I must first realize that the Father has drawn me to Him…
Draw: to attract powerfully, conceived of as drawing a heavy object out of something with great effort.
I am not here by accident…
It was by the effort of the Father… Dragging me out of something - Something = Sin
#2 Hears my words
#3 Does them - They do what they hear
This is what his life will look like:
he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
Doing what the word tell us to do!
Is like a man building a house -
A house represents:
Safety
Shelter
Refuge
Peace
Serenity
This is what God’s word wants to do in your life! (Repeat safety…)
His word digs deep and it lays a foundation on a rock
Rock represents:
Stability
Strength
Firmness
Solid
“When a flood arose”
Things will happen in life…
“The stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.”
The stream broke against that house…
But the flood could not shake it, because it had been well built…
But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”
This is interesting…
This person is still called to Him....
But he hears the word but does not do it…
He is like a man who builds a house with no foundation
When the stream broke - Because the stream will break…
This is powerful - “Immediately it fell”
The ruin of that house was great…

Dealing with the Log will cause you to go deep....
It’s the mirror....
Things about me
It’s about allowing the word to do the work....
The word brings you to a solid foundation / A place of maturity
Removing the log has to with “hearing and doing”
Hearing and doing - Changes the way I view the “flood”
Could it be that the reason why I can’t handle the flood called “life” is because my foundation is not solid?
The reason why I can’t forgive because I’m hearing but not doing!
The reason why I feel stuck because I’m hearing but not doing!
The reason why I’m a fought finder is because I’m hearing but not doing!
The reason why financially I feel stuck, maybe because i’m hearing but not doing!
“Immediately it fell”
Immediately I’m in my feelings
Immediately I’m stressing
Immediately I’m doubting
Immediately I’m angry
because I’m hearing and not doing…
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?
