Intro
Aunt Nancy was a tremendous influence in my life. I love her dearly, and who couldn’t? Sweet, fiesty, loving - She would spoil me with tea and frozen cookies when I came to visit. She also had a tremendous fashion sense. I used to tease her for looking like a character from the Matrix with her long leather jacket and sunglasses when we attended church with her and Claude... She was cool… Aunt Nancy was cool...
Talking
After Uncle Claude passed away I called her just about every week as I was driving home from work to check on her and make sure she was doing ok.
I enjoyed talking with her and hearing how the rest of the family was doing… We would trade off and on asking about my folks and Bill and Molly and Ryan and Katie and Sue and Reed, Steve and Mitti.
We talked about the Bible and ministry, We talked about people we were praying for and people that we loved. People that she painted with or mentored and we talked about the sprinkler system, many many times.... She was always thinking about us and it sets a model for us today.
Her Influence
She is, and I say, “is” very intentionally. She is such a dear sweet saint of the Lord. Alive and well in the presence of her King. Her hope has been realized and it will never be taken away from her...
In talking with her I understood why Uncle Claude would thank God for her in prayers over meals. How Claude admired her! How she had changed his life!
She had been used of God to change him and she has been used of God to change me as well.
I thank God for my godly heritage where she played such a prominent role.
