Mark
So this story has been controversial and especially today as some current preachers have used this story to say that Jesus was racist and eventually repented of that which is absurd because if you really believe that then his dying on the cross would have been worthless because he sinned.
So we know that Jesus was sinless, so what is happening here.
Jesus earthly Ministry and his disciples ministry was to the Jews first.
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.
Humility
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Serious question you have to ask yourself if you are struggling in your walk with God is “Am I struggling with pride?” in other words, “Is pride at the root of my struggles?”
I sincerely believe and have experienced myself much like the story of Nebuchanezzar, that when I am fully of pride, my heart turns away from God. And it is only when I humble myself or when God humbles me that my heart turns back toward God”.
Think of it like magnets. Pride will repel you away from God, but humility will bring you towards God.
“entitlement”(ask youth)
