When the foot prints become theirs
Luke 10:8 KJV 1900
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
Intro
When you were a child you wanted to follow your parents
You simply followed their lead because you knew you could trust them It is our job to teach them to live without us My mom always said you need to be able to live without me, make your own decisions
Street smarts are just as valuable as book smarts 4th grade stopped checking my home work, because I relied to heavily on her Around 12 let me make my own decision on going to church At 16 I had to tell her where i was going but she would not say no She made and let me take my own steps because she would not always be there Christ told his disciples to follow him
The disciples followed Christ physical foot steps
Matthew 4:19 - And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 9:9 - As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him. Matthew 16:24 - Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Christ prepared his disciples with his Spoken Footsteps
He prepared them with Power
Matthew 16:13-21 - 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou are John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the other prophets 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. He prepared them with Patience
Verse 21 HE BEGAN TO SHEW UNTO HIS DISCIPLES He prepared them with Promise
Luke 24:44-53 The last time they were physically led
Luke 24:44-53 - 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things. 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. 50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them 51 and it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven 52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: 53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen We need to get stronger
We need to fully know how to win 2 Tim 3:10-14
doctrine - upon this rock manner of life - His life didn't contradict his teaching purpose - his purpose for Christ was well known Faith, long suffering, charity, patience - his character was obvious persecutions and afflictions- it isn't all sunshine and roses Do what you have learned
To have learned you must have been taught To be assured of you need to see proof of the preaching Our children must grow past us spiritually or the flames of Christianity will continue to dwindle
