2. The Teaching for the Christian
2. The Teaching for the Christian
This makes sense when we have a high view of God and His work through Jesus.
a. The Role of God
a. The Role of God
Hearing from a guy that loves salvation and the person of it, he gives us a reminder that we are set apart or dedicated by God.
“Sanctified” - we are made Holy by Him!
You can’t lose salvation.
1 John 2:19 - we not of us.
b. The Responsibility of God
b. The Responsibility of God
God keeps us.
preserved - this means “guarded or to be kept in a certain state.”
Nothing can change that!
“to those who are called, we have been sanctified (I am now beloved by God… the object of God’s love.) Preserved and kept by God.”
“to those who are called, we have been sanctified (I am now beloved by God… the object of God’s love.) Preserved and kept by God.”
from that we are called, or commissioned to go and live for Him.
called speaks of participating with someone of authority after an official request.
Our responsibility is not to keep ourselves saved. Our responsibility is to be obedient.

2 mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
Mercy - kindess or pity
Mercy is not getting what we deserve.
We deserve hell.
Jude reminds, my older brother took what I deserve.
Grace is getting what we don’t deserve.
Herb Reavis said that we approach God every day on the basis of His mercy and grace.
peace - harmony during the absence of war.
“because of Christ’s work on the cross, believers enjoy peace. The unsaved person is at war with God and cannot please Him. But when he trusts the Savior, the war ends and he receives peace with God.” - Warren Wiersbe
We only can have love when we’ve experienced His mercy and grace on the cross.
The cross is our reminder of the great love of Jesus Christ!!
Filter your thoughts with the cross of Christ and love will be multiplied.
I am here and living on the basis of Christ’s mercy! I have peace with God because of His love. No matter how difficult it gets, all I can say is “HALLELUJAH!!!”

Josef Tson a Romanian pastor and Christian leader was exiled from his native country in 1981. He ministered in USA but eventually returned home. He discovered a spiritual paradigm shift in the evangelical USA
What changed?Pursuing holiness shifted to a desire for upligfting, ecstatic experiences.
“A shift from the call to full surrender, to the call to commitment."
A change in the new versions of the Bible.
