Hey Jude - (Notes/ Series Prep)

Outline:

Jude 1-4- Author and the beginning of a letter about Salvation Jude calls out the false teachers.

Salvation he experience and wanting to write about it (v. 3a)

2. Purpose in writing, false teachers (v. 3b-4)

Weirsbe - “Jude identifies these false teachers as the same people Peter described: they creep in secretly, bring false doctrine, and live in sin.”

False teachers:

Creep in (v. 4 - “crept in unawares...”)

Bring false doctrine (v. 4 - “turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness...”)

Live in sin. (v. 4 - “denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”)

We may not have False Talkers here in this church, but we probably do have some False Walkers.

3. What are we to do?

v. 3 - ‘it’s time to fight.’ - “Contend for the faith.”
