v.15

Proverbs 10:15 NASB95
15 The rich man’s wealth is his fortress, The ruin of the poor is their poverty.
However,
Proverbs 18:11–12 NASB95
11 A rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own imagination. 12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, But humility goes before honor.
Proverbs 10:15 LXX
15 κτῆσις πλουσίων πόλις ὀχυρά, συντριβὴ δὲ ἀσεβῶν πενία.
“…a man of wealth...” = alternative -> “…enough riches...”
Therefore, the
Proverbs has a very interesting perspective concerning money.
It is a favorable possession in order tp protect against intruders, poverty, illness, famine, etc…
It is an unfavorable possession in order to protect against pride, arrogance, and personal accomplishment (smugness).
