Isaiah 25:6-9
6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine— the best of meats and the finest of wines.
7 On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; 8 he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces;
he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth.
The LORD has spoken.
9 In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us.
This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”
Jerry, Tim Robin family and loved ones the Peace that passes all understanding that comes from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ be with you.
I first met Charlotte about 8 months ago when Robin brought here by the office and we discussed her faith and she confessed her love of God and we shared the Lord’s Supper.
We has spoken on the phone once before but had never met face to face.
We talked for the last time a week ago yesterday at the hospice center.
Again se expressed her faith in God and confidence in his redemption for her.
My visits with Charlotte were mostly centered around her cancer and here spiritual walk, I never had the chance to just talk to her about her life or family or interests.
I know there are many things about Charlotte that I never knew.
For example, I didn’t know that she lived in Sioux City and raised here children in their younger years.
Or that your family moved around so much from Waterloo, to Sioux City to Minnesota to Missouri and back to Waterloo.
I never realized that Robin has so much trouble keeping gum out of her hair and Charlotte would have to use ice or lighter fluid to remove it.
I didn’t know about her love of animals (except the hamsters) especially the dog, named horse that scared the meter reader.
I was unaware of her easy-going manner and the way she would listen to you when you were having problems and not be judgmental.
We didn’t have a chance to talk about her life long best friend Norma Jean or her habit of shopping at the “used-a-bit” stores.
I never realized her long family history with cooking and baking.
There are a lot of things that we didn’t get to talk about, but what we did discuss was her faith.
She acknowledges she was a sinner
She understood that by her own doings she would be lost and condemned
She placed her trust in Jesus Christ and His substitutionary atonement.
Charlotte has now home with her Lord and Savior.
She is feasting at the great banquet feast.
