What is baptism?
What is communion?
Could it be we are in the habit of taking communion, but
not really enter into communion?
“the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and
feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or
spiritual level.”
Communion is ongoing. It is a lifestyle

The worst sermon Jesus ever preached…Jn.6
When the people saw the sign (miracle KJV)that he had
done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come
into the world!”
Perceiving then that they were about to come and take
him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the
mountain by himself.
Jn. 6:14-15
“Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw
signs (miracles), but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not
work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to
eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you.
6:26-27
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me
shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
Jn.6:35
Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and
I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the
Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
Jn.6:56-57
For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the
vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and
when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of
me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup
that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
Luke 22:18-20
I
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide (continue)
in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and
the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are offspring of
Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say,
‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices
sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the
son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Jn.8:31-36
Free from what?
The lesson of John 15
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I
in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do
nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a
branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into
the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in
you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my
Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my
disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide
in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my
love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in
his love. Jn.15:5-10
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my
voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat
with him, and he with me.
Rev.3:20
The name of the city is a compound Greek word: laos means people,
nation, or crowd; dike means custom, law, judgment, penalty, or
punishment, depending on the context. From that, most conclude that the
founders of Laodicea saw themselves as a people of justice or law-abiding
people.
AKA the church in the USA Rev.3:15-18
What we have is a church that has put Christ outside it
because it saw itself as just or righteous, yet its values are
much like the world
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be
of a contrite spirit.
Ps.34:18
For thou desires not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delights not in burnt
offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite
heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Ps. 51:16-17
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him
also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of
the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isa.57:15
“It is also important to understand that in practice we will
have to learn to lead an ordered life centered on those four
things: humility, pursuit of inward transformation, constant
receptivity to the “Presence,” and unqualified obedience to
Jesus. There is some latitude for cultural variations and
individual peculiarities in the learning process, but that
process is unavoidable and must be embraced. We have to
learn to do the things that eliminate distractions and keep
our whole being focused upon constant companionship
with Christ in our “nows.”

…In this way the life of a disciple of Jesus—of his student
or apprentice in kingdom living—takes its individualized
shape. And to come to him in faith is to enroll as his
disciple. It is constantly to go to school under his
tutelage. Anything less than that simply misses him and
reveals we do not actually have faith in him. But as
disciples our faith grows as our knowledge grows. There
are some time-tested spiritual practices that can help us
in our learning process.”
