And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Rev.5:9-10 Worship… The Laver “You shall also make a basin of bronze, with its stand of bronze, for washing. You shall put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it Exodus 30:18 He made the basin of bronze and its stand of bronze, from the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered in the entrance of the tent of meeting. Exodus 38:8 A mirror can be used for vanity or revelation Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding. II Cor.10:12 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. II Cor 3:17-18 (KJV) What does the Word (mirror) reveal? If you have really heard his voice and learned from him the truths concerning himself, then throw off your old evil nature—the old you that was a partner in your evil ways—rotten through and through, full of lust and sham. Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better. Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature. Eph.4:21-24 (Living Bible) Examples from the NT Jn.13:1-17 Eph.5:25-27 II Cor. 3:15-18; 4:7-11 Through the cross of Christ, God dealt with the root of our old man (the life of Adam.) In our cross, the Holy Spirit deals with the fruit of our old man (the life of Adam) and produces the fruit of the new man (Christ) And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Rom.8:28-29 The Holy Spirit uses every circumstance, including people, coupled with the word of God to accomplish His purpose, which is to form Christ in us my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you! Gal.4:19 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the compassions of God, to present your bodies as a living holy sacrifice pleasing to God, as your spiritual worship. And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may be approving what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God. Rom.12:1-2 (DLNT) who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father Gal.1:4 And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. So don’t fool yourselves. For if a person just listens and doesn’t obey, he is like a man looking at his face in a mirror; as soon as he walks away, he can’t see himself anymore or remember what he looks like. James 1:22-24 (Living Bible)
