I don’t know why the chicken crossed the road, all I can say is that it was poultry in motion.

I DO KNOW why we are crossing the road. We are going to show the love of Jesus in a practical way!

Today could be the day that God uses to change the eternal destiny of people we serve! Think about that for a moment. God can use US…TODAY…to be His hands, feet, voice, and ears to others. With that in mind, I want to give you a brief challenge.

Scripture

Colossians 4:2–6 Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, so that I may make it known as I should.

Be prayerful - pray for each person you see. Pray that God would give us an opportunity to share Jesus with a non-believer or encourage a believer.

Be thankful - people need to see that on your face…let’s practice - show others your thankful face!

Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.

Be wise in how you act and what you say. We aren’t just going to wash cars, deliver food, plant flowers, clean yards, or hang out at the laundromat. We are here to give an answer to others. We are going to hear some of this “WHY would you do this for me…for free?”

We will respond “We want to show the love of Jesus in a practical way.” Let’s practice that together right now.

Challenge

So, we will serve folks with a smile & look for an opportunity to tell them WHY we are serving: “We want to show the love of Jesus in a practical way.”

Ask to pray for them: Be short, sweet, & sincere.

Give them a postcard. (on your tables)

Share your 3 minute faith story.

Invite them to Fellowship if they don’t have a church home.

Take plenty of pics & video with your phone.

Jot down names & address of folks you serve - call/text in prayer requests for them to Joyce Howard [phone] [you should’ve received this at 9am] Be ready to briefly share when we come back (during lunch).
