Call to worship
Bible Verse
Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. (Psalm 43:3) May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. (Psalm 90:17)
The Lord’s Prayer (Saying)
Blessing
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. (Galatians 1:3-4)
Hymn No 206: “Man of sorrows”
Invocation
Dear God and Father,
Teach us knowledge and good judgment, for we believe in your commands. (Psalm 119:66) You are good, and what you do is good; teach us your decrees. (Psalm 119:68) Your hands made us and formed us; give us understanding to learn your commands. (Psalm 119:73) Let your kindness come to us that we may live, for your law gives us happiness. (Psalm 119:77)
To all perfection we see a limit; but your commands are boundless (Psalm 119:96). Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. (Psalm 119:105)

Hymn No 211: “What can wash away my sin?”
Scripture Reading Psalm 22:1-2; 6-8; 16-21
Prayer of Adoration and Confession
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. (Romans 11:33-36)
But do people know where to find wisdom? Where can they find understanding? For it is hidden from the eyes of all humanity. Even the sharp-eyed birds in the sky cannot discover it.
Father God, surely You know where it can be found, for You look throughout the whole earth, under all the heavens. You made the winds blow and determined how much rain should fall. You made the laws of the rain and prepared a path for the lightning. Then, when You had done all this, You saw wisdom and measured it. You established it and examined it in detail. And You say to all people: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’ ” (Job 28:20-28)
Confession
Declaration of pardoning
If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. (1 John 1:8-9)
