Many times we are faced with challenges.

Some challenges are external, many are internal.

Some challenges are daily, and some challenges come and go

There are self inflicted challenges

There are challenges that are not initiated by you

Challenges of the physical

Challenges of the mental

Challenges of the spiritual

I believe no matter the level of life we are in there are challenges

The one that’s in poverty has his challenges

The one that is wealthy also has his challenges

The one that is intelligent has challenges

The one that is mentally challenged has challenges

The young man has challenges

The young women has her challenges

The elderly has their challenges

We all have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD

We all have experienced a challenged life

But thanks be to the glory of GOD

That God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son

To overcome our challenges

It is because of Christ and Christ alone that we could beat the odds

There are many challenges, but yet it took only one Savior

What are the Odds?

Confront the Odds

If we are going to answer the question “What are the odds?

We must confront the odds

Elijah, went to meet King Ahab

Because God instructed him to do so

His life was in danger, but he went

There were more of them than it was of him

But Elijah went

Because God had instructed him too

Often we operate in the flesh and not in the spirit

Someone says you are wrong preacher

I always operate in the spirit and not of the flesh

Well, if that’s true then

Why haven’t you acted upon the vision that God has given you?

Yes the one that has been burning for years on the inside you

Yet you are afraid to take that leap of faith

The spirit instructed you to start that business

But the odds do not look so good at this time

And you have not started the business

You want to marry her yet you are afraid to ask

She may reject you and say no

He’s tall dark and handsome

But I am not going to let him know I am interested

There is a new position opening on the job

I want it, but I don’t feel like I am qualified

I want to go to the next level in life

But I am afraid of what my friends may say

I want the new house

But I don’t know if I will qualify

In Elijah’s case the enemy is out to kill me

But God said go anyway

They don’t like me

But God says go anyway

They don’t worship like I do

God said go anyway

They call me a trouble maker

God says go anyway

I am not wanted there

God says go anyway

They even pray against me

God says go anyway

I’ll go if I have to go

All by myself

If my mother, don’t go

If my father, don’t go

If my sister, don’t go

Or my brother, don’t go

I’ll go and confront the odds

God has not given us the spirit of fear

But of Love and of sound mind

We must confront the odds

It may look like a slim chance

You think your all alone

But when God says GO!

You can confront the odds!

Contest the Odds

My brothers and sisters,

If we are going to answer the question

What are the odds?

We must contest the odds

Elijah, met up with Ahab,

Ahab called Elijah a troublemaker

But because of the confidence Elijah had in God

Elijah told Ahab, I don’t trouble Israel

But it’s you and your father’s house that trouble Israel

You have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed Baalim

Elijah told King Ahab, send to me on Mt. Carmel your 450 prophets of Baal and your 400 of groves

When you know that God has sent you

God has anointed you

God is with you

It doesn’t matter how many are against you

It doesn’t matter who is against you

It doesn’t matter

Because if God be for you, who can be against you?

Contest the odds

Elijah told King Ahab to meet at Mt. Carmel which was known a place to worship Baal

Even the place don;t matter when you are walking with God

Meet then on their own territory,

Meet them in their house,

I let them all come

Though I walk in the valley of shadow of death

I will fear no evil, for thou art with me

They said that you will not last

Contest the odds

They said you want make it

They said you are not educated enough

They said you don’t qualify

They said you can’t work here any more

Now after we have confronted the odds

…in all these things we are more than conquerors

850 prophets were invited,

But only 450 showed up

See wall ready have defeated half them

Because they are to scared to dhow up

They are can talk the talk but they already know that they are defeated

They can praise but defeated

They can worship but defeated

Because false prophets don’t have any real substance

They are going through the motions but their god is dead with no power

They are ready know that there is no competition

To the true living God of Abraham and Isaac and of Israel

My beloved brothers and sisters

We can walk on the confidence in knowing

Our God will answer

We can have the confidence of Elijah

I know I am out numbered

I know I amon your turf

But I also so know my God is a living God

I know my God answers

I know my God has all power in His hand

If you have the same confidence that I do

The doctor may say death, my God says life

The boss may say fired, my God says new business

Friends may say you on your own, God says lo I am with you

The enemy may say trapped, but God says stretch forth your rod

The bank may denied, but God says approved

I have all confidence in my God

Elijah says you go first,

The prophets of Baal prayed and the prayed

They got frustrated, a began to jump up and down

They even cut themselves

Yet no answer

Elijah mock them, cry louder, maybe he’s busy,

Maybe he’s traveling, or probably sleep

I’d probably do the same thing

When people are praying against you

But their god has no power

Elijah had given the people a choice

If be baal be god the serve him

or if the Lord God is your God serve Him

God is not a one night stand

That you can call when it’s convenient

Keep your commitment to God

And God will keep His commitment to you

Elijah reset up the alter,

Dug a trench and added water

This is for the on lookers

The enemy love to call God’s moves a trick

The enemy is looking for the method

The enemy like to discredit

So Elijah added water 3 times

So there is no doubt what God is about to do in your life

It is a miracle

What God is about to done in my life it is a miracle

What Jesus has already done is a miracle

Elijah prayed!

Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel

Let it be known this this day that thou art the Lord God

And that I am thy servant

and I have done all these things at thy word.

Hear me, Oh Lord, Hear me,

That this people may know that thou art the Lord God,

And that thou hast turned their hearts back again.

God answered! He answered by fire

He consumed the sacrifice

He consumed the wood

He consumed the stones

He consumed the dust and the water that was in the trench

The people fell and began to worship.

You can conquer

What are the odds?

Confront, Contest, Conquer

Jesus was arrested by the crowd

What are the odds?

They Mocked Him?

What are the odds?

The Nailed his hands

What are the odds?

They Nailed his feet

What are the Odds?

He hung on the cross

What are the odds?

It wasn’t looking good

What are the odds?

He died?

What are the odds?

It look like it’s over now

But he rose from the dead

What are the odds?

He has all power in his hand

The odds are looking good now

He’s sitting next to the father

The odds are in our favor

Tell somebody

Victory is mine,

Victory is mine,

Victory today is mine,

Salvation is mine,

We will confront

We will contest

And with the help of God

We will conquer

Tell somebody,

Against all odds, I am the winner!
