1.       Take the burden, which is a burden to God, away from Him.

2.       God avenges Himself on the enemy.

Judgment: the substance

1. The Lord turns his hand against his people

2. He thoroughly purges his church – refer to silver and dross

3. Restore the leadership to what it was in the beginning.

Judgment: the means

1.       Redeemed by justice

2.       Redeemed by righteousness

3.       The Messianic content of these concepts.

Judgment: the result

1.       Called a city of righteousness – like in Revelation and Paradise.

2.       Rebels and sinners will be broken

3.       Those who forsake the Lord will perish.

4.       Eternal punishment.
