Impatience, Idolatry & Lessons Learned… Again
Impatience, Idolatry & Lessons Learned… Again
v. 1-6
Moses was gone for an extended period of time on Mount Sinai getting all of the details from God about the ark, tabernacle, priest cleansing, etc.
How long was he gone? Ch. 24:18 tells us.
The people were used to Moses being with them all the time, never being away for them even for an overnight trip.
So, what did the people do? They became impatient.
When has your impatience gotten the best of you?
The sin of the people
The sin of the people
What did they do wrong?
v.1) So much wrong here lol. It’s really not funny though. They were impatient, they gave up on God, they pressured Aaron into idolatry, “as for THIS Moses”
They turned so quickly back to idols. It should be noted that idol worship was all that they knew in Egypt (foreign gods), so they were going back to what they were comfortable with.
What about our comfortable sins? What do we return back to when things get tough?

v.2) Aaron gave in. It really isn’t surprising to see how quick Aaron gave into them, considering how much leaders typically want their followers to like them or favor them.
v.4) Really? Making the golden calf is bad enough, but notice what he says in the last part of this verse! Are you serious? How many signs did God do for them up until this point?
v.5) This isn’t good. A feast to the Lord?
v.6) They worshipped idols, ate, drank, and played. What a day!
