For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly
Ro 5:6
weak (morally) adjs. — wanting in moral strength, courage, or will.
Weak is the condition of a human prior to submitting to God. Without hope, without life, without forgiveness and without vision… The right time is the period within time itself in which it was appropriate to die for the ungodly. Where it will have the impact that God wants. Not just any time, but a specific time. One chosen by God. The right time was while we were still ungodly. God is different, He doesn’t appeal to us the way we might appeal to others. His ways are higher than our ways, His ways are superior. It marks Him out as God, who else would die for their enemies. And not just a few enemies that don’t hate Him as much as the others, no, enemies that would just as soon have Him killed… (See verse 7 & 8)
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. Ga 4:4–5
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6
I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:13–16
God is particular about His timing, and He is Sovereign.
The demonstration of Love
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us, justified by His blood, saved by His life.
Reconciled when we were enemies, saved by His life.
19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. Jn 14:19
Our life force 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Col 3:3–4
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned- 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted when there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. Ro 5:12-14
Verse 18 show us the inclusivity of the Gospel, The free gift came to ALL men, many were justified, but the provision was for All.
