Welcome/thanks/compliment
We live in a world where what it means to be a woman, how motherhood is defined and what it means to be a good wife is a fleeting reality.
We have seen in our lifetime the rise of feminism, the stronghold of homosexuality, and the breakdown of the nuclear family with postmodern paradigms that suggest the Proverbs 31 woman is antiquated and some would even say, oppressive.
But today I want to talk to you about what scripture teaches about womanhood and how it benefits us today when it’s understood and applied properly and in the context intended.
Specifically, I want us to think about a few things every girl should know and how they should come to know it. So moms, daughters, brace yourselves because today we are going to have THE Talk! But first, let’s pray.
THE 49rs
It’s always been my goal to make sure my kids know how to take care of themselves and be functioning adults in society. I started teaching my daughter to cook by the time she was... the goal is not perfection but production. At the end of our lives we all should be known as people who gave more than we took.
They have a name for people who are always taking, people who look for men with the most money... gold diggers. They don’t care how dirty they have to get, who they have to cross or betray as long as they get the gold. You always know where they’ve been because they leave a trail of chaos behind. Broken relationships, hurt people, and sometimes even disease follow their path.
It was never God’s plan for us to be scavengers. From the beginning, we were created to be powerful influences on the earth. When God created woman he called her a suitable helper for Adam. That means nothing else could match what she brought to the table. Her beauty, strength, grace and ability to comfort was unmatched by any other created thing. But somewhere, somehow we’ve lost what it means to be a woman.
So why don’t we dump the modern, taker approach to womanhood get back to some traditional values that bring honor back into our homes and our communities. Times may have changed but people are still people. The words I’m about to read to you will help us all be better ones.
