Kenny Eskamire
Welcome
On behalf of the family I would like to thank you all for coming to celebrate the life of Kenny Eskamire. We have gathered here to praise God and to witness to our faith as we celebrate his life. We come together in grief, acknowledging our human loss. May God grant us grace, that in pain we may find comfort, in sorrow hope, in death resurrection.
Prayer
Father God, I thank you for the life of Kenny and I ask that your Spirit would surround the Eskamire family as they continue to mourn their loss. I ask that you would comfort them in their pain. That you would give them hope in knowing that they will see Kenny once more when it is their time to be called home. That you would give them strength by surrounding them with family member and friends who can help them during this time. I pray that they would find time in their mourning to remember all of the great times they had with Kenny and that it would bring them comfort during this difficult time. I thank you for all those who have come today to glorify you and to celebrate the life of Kenny. We give you all glory, honour, and praise. Amen

Sermon
Dying, Christ destroyed our death. Rising, Christ restored our life. Christ will come again in glory. As in baptism Kenny Eskamirel put on Christ, so in Christ may Kenny be clothed with glory. Here and now, dear friends, we are God’s children. What we shall be has not yet been revealed; but we know that when he appears, we shall be like Jesus, for we shall see him as he is. Those who have this hope purify themselves as Christ is pure.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Kenny knew that Jesus was his Lord and savior and he lived his his life that way.
A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
He knew that simply believing in Jesus was not the only thing that God was calling him too. He knew that being a believer meant that God was the one directing his life. That God brought him to green pastures and still waters and that even when life was hard God was still with him. God blessed Kenny and his cup ran over and showered others around him. He lived his life to love and care for those around him.
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
The greatest thing that God gave Kenny was the love and joy that he had inside of him. Kenny had so much love and joy I nside of him that it flooded out and covered everything he came in contact with. Kenny loved so much and it was evident that he belonged to Jesus because of this trait. Now he has passed on from this world and is glorifying God in heaven today. He has walked in front of God and been told, “Well done my faithful servant.” He is free of sorrow, pain, and sickness and he is worshiping at the feet of Jesus. It is okay to morn the loss of Kenny but we should also celebrate because of the amazing life he lived and because of the gift he has received in heaven today.
As we celebrate the life of Kenny Eskamire. I would encourage you to come to know Jesus like he did, to allow God to lead you in life like he did, and to love all those you come across like he did. Honor his memory by doing these things. Let’s pray.
