We live in an age where people craves knowledge. And because of that many self-proclaimed teachers have surged over the last decade.
When I think of the raise of Social Media and the millions of interactions that this world experience every hour, it can get overwhelming.
20 years ago if you wanted to know something there was a few but most of the time good options that you can chose from. But today if someone wants to learn about finances they usually try a search in Youtube and the result is hundreds of videos. Now there are some great and really educational options but the majority of content is going to make you lose money.
Now, imagine when people try to find something about God. After an hour they will probably end up more confused. No wonder why our societies are suffering.
We are truly in the golden age of false prophesy.
Lately we have been studying the Law of God, no to find salvation. But wisdom. We understand that only by the Grace of Jesus we can be saved. But sadly many times as believers we ignore the implications of that amazing reality.
You see God is saving us not to indulge back into the things that made us slaves but to lead us into the freedom of eternal life which basically is reflected by the Law which in its essence is True Love for God and his Creation.
Now one of the things that the law warns us about is False prophets in Deut 13:1-4 we read
Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder, and the sign or wonder should come to pass concerning what he said to you, namely, “Let us follow other gods”—gods whom you have not previously known—“and let us serve them.” You must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer, for the Lord your God will be testing you to see if you love him with all your mind and being. You must follow the Lord your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him.
I believe that every commandment of God has in the background the love and goodness of the Lord. So when He tells us to do something his intention is our best, He is thinking in our future and how can we experience the life that He intended for us to have from the beginning.
In this case He is warning us and wants to protect us from deceptive teachings that will lead us away from Him and his love. And coming back to our technological age we need to be aware of what kind of information we are receiving, specially regarding God.
Friends let us remain in the truth of the Gospel, the love of God, the autority of Scriptures and the Superiority of Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless you this month and show you his Grace.
