Hebrews 8:5 (NKJV) 5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, "See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Psalm 40:6-8
Ver.11-18 Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified
Ver.14
“What a glorious word! Those for whom Christ has died were perfected by his death. It does not mean that he made them perfect in characters so that they are no longer sinners, but that he made those for whom he died perfectly free from the guilt of sin. When Christ took their sins upon himself, sin remained no longer upon them, for it could not be in two places at one and the same time.” (Spurgeon)
Ver.15
Jeremiah 31:31-34
Ver.19-25 Hold Fast Your Confession
Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
Ver.26-31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God
Ver. 26-29
These verses are speaking to the Hebrew Christians that were thinking of turning back to the law and the sacrifices and leaving Jesus, our great High Priest and the one and only sacrifice. It would also speak today to those that would abandon or turn their backs to Jesus and go back to the life they previously had in religion, the world or whatever it was.
Ver.29
They have trampled the Son of God underfoot
Counted Jesus blood as a common thing
Insulted the Holy Spirit of grace
Zechariah 12:10 (NKJV) 10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for hisonly son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
Ver.30-31 Vengeance is Mine, I will repay
2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV) 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Ezekiel 33:11 (NKJV) 11 Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'
Ver.32-39
Ver.34
Mark 8:36 (NKJV) 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Mark 10:29-30 (NKJV) 29 So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.
Ver.36 Need of endurance
James 5:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
Ver.38-39
The just shall live by faith
Philippians 3:9 (NKJV) 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which isfrom the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
2 Peter 1:10 (NKJV) 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
If anyone draws back
Luke 9:57-62 (NKJV) 57 Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, thatsomeone said to Him, "Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." 58 And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay Hishead." 59 Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." 60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." 61 And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." 62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
