2 Corinthians 9:6–12

The point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work. As it is written, “He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever.” He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your resources and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way for great generosity, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God; for the rendering of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints but also overflows in many thanksgivings to God.
1. God’s Mathematics
In God’s mathematics the best way to increase a sum is to subtract from it.
Verse 6: “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
The reason why Gods math often doesn’t make sense to us is because we are not factoring in his supernatural ability to our natural situations.
2. God’s Love of Happy Givers
God loves for you to be happy in your giving.
Verse 7: “Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
3. God’s Power to Provide for Happy Givers
God’s power and grace combine to give cheerful givers enough for themselves and abundance for others.
Verse 8 (literal translation): “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that by having all sufficiency always in every way, you might abound for every good work.”
4. The Giving of Thanks to God
The cheerful generosity of faithful giving leads many people (more than we know!) to give thanks to God—and that is the goal of all our lives, that God be glorified and thanked. It also releases Joy into the lives of those we are giving to.
Get into whatever you would like to say about the Restore missions trip.
Some of the guys saw a need, they gave, a family experiece HIS faithfulness, they experieced His Joy, they thanked Him, He was glorified.
