A Servant or a Son!

14 The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. 15 And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” 16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.
Kingdom Perspective Releases Kingdom Reality.
Kingdom Perspective Releases Kingdom Reality.
Perspective: a particular attitude toward or way of regarding/seeing something. Our point of view.
Comes from a Latin root meaning “look through” or “perceive”. An integrated set of attitudes of beliefs. Belief system.
I believe God is taking us from a religious perspective to a Kingdom perspective!
Jesus, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand”.
The Kingdom is here now, but in order to function in and partake of it you must intentionally change your entire thought process.
You will never rise in life above your own perception of who you are.
You will never rise in life above your own perception of who you are.
Your perception shapes your reality.
When I don’t know who I am, I build my identity on false foundations (shifting sand).
When I don’t know who I am, I identify with my problem/past.
Your perception of yourself must be formed by the Word of God.
When you know who you are you can do what your are called to do.
The Kingdom was established on relationship, not dictatorship.

The Kingdom of God is built and functions upon two things; Fatherhood and sonship.

Seeing God as Father is an absolute necessity.
Seeing God as Father is an absolute necessity.
John emphasizes the relationship of the Son with His Father. Because of the love they have for one another, it is His great joy to obey the Father and to do the Fathers will.
The foundation for living in the Kingdom is a true revelation of the love of the Father!
Before you can go any further, you have to establish that The Father loves you individually and unconditionally!
Summery of John 14:20-23 Jesus says: The father loves you in the same way the Father loves me… and I love you the way I love the Father… come and abide with Us in that love… We (the Father, Spirt and Son) love you, and We will come and make our permanent dwelling place with you, if you love Me and keep My commandments.
John 16:23-27 23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25 “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
God is not interested in just saving souls in an impersonal way. He wants to love us and have a personal relationship with us. He wants us to know Him and to love Him. He wants to mend the broken relationship fully.
Jesus was the example of the relationship that The Father wants to have with each of us.
Do I know the Father the way Jesus knew him? Do I really know that the Father loves me the way He loves Jesus? Do I want to know Him like that? Will I pay the price to get there?
When you come fully into this relationship, your security is in that relationship…
We need a revelation of The Father and His love for us! There cannot be a manifestation of the Kingdom of God without it!
I have to know what I am before I can know what I can do!
I have to know what I am before I can know what I can do!
God’s design was to establish a Kingdom of Son’s not servants.
Romans 8:15 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Gal 4:6 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
Sons in the greek is emphasizing relationship not gender.
As we become mature in God as sons we progressively walk in more of the inheritance He has given us. You have to start seeing yourself as God sees you!
Religion is teaching you what to do before I’ve taught you who you are.
I don't know how I should act until I know who I am.
When we immediately take someone and start telling them what to DO before we teaching them how to BE we produce religion instead of relationship! We produce pharisees instead of sons!
Behavior modification without internal transformation keeps us locked into the bondage of “the fear of never being good enough”!
You can not have a servant mentality and function in the Kingdom as a son!
You can not have a servant mentality and function in the Kingdom as a son!
15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
This was pre cross. Until this point they had been servants. In fact, the best you could do was be a servant. (Moses: Great leader, man of God, deliverer…Servant. David: Giant slayer, king, man after God’s heart.. Servant. Abraham: The Father of our faith…Servant.)
Now through relationship with Jesus they were elevated to friends.
7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
7 Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has—for we are heirs of God through Jesus, the Messiah!
Servants / Friends / Sons!
Identity is key to function!
Identity is key to function!
Most people think what they do defines who you are, but in the Kingdom, its who you are that is supposed to determine what you do. People will define you by what you’ve done, but God defines you by what He’s Done and whose you are!
We ask God, “what do you want me to do”, and He ask us “who are you?”.
When I start seeing myself as a son I will function as a son.

Do I have the mindset of a servant or a son?
Do I have the mindset of a servant or a son?
How do I know? Let’s contrast a servants mentality with the mentality of a son. (We could use the terms servant and orphan interchangeably)
A servant is led by his flesh (soul -ish realm), a son is led by The Spirit of God.
A servant is led by his flesh (soul -ish realm), a son is led by The Spirit of God.
“The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit.”
Inheritance is given, but the growth that is required to walk in it is costly!
A servant works to please, a son works to advance!

“And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned...”
A servant is constantly striving to be accepted being driven by a fear of rejection.
A son does the works set for him by the Father because his heart is to advance the Kingdom. He is not working FOR God, but Co-Laboring WITH his Father!
A servant looks to heaven to escape the earth, a son looks for heaven to invade the earth!
A servant looks to heaven to escape the earth, a son looks for heaven to invade the earth!
A son looks to heaven as the model for earth. “as it is in heaven!”
A servant strives to earn God’s favor, a son looks to walk in his inheritance.

“And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has.”
The Holy Spirit is calling Ignite to a complete paradigm shift! He is challenging us to change the way we think about EVERYTHING!

All change requires conflict and right not there is conflict taking place all around us and in us.
Conflict between our flesh and our spirit!
Conflict between lies we have believed and revelation that is exposing them.
Conflict between demonic forces trying to hinder believers and The Spirit of God within believers!
Conflict between the wisdom of man and the wisdom of God!
Conflict between reasoning and faith!
