Intro:
Happy Mothers Day
There are many scriptures that talk about the strength, fortitude, love, wisdom of women
But there are text in the bible that outline the praise of the good wife, a good woman
a good mother
and give us a biblical definition of an "ideal woman".
Today let’s take a journey into what the scriptures give as a summary of the character of a good woman!
Today - we celebrate women - whether you are a mother or not we celebrate you a United Christian Fellowship
A Virtuous Woman has an excellent, and noble character.
10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.
11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life.
12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
The first and foremost quality of a treasured wife or woman is not outer beauty but inner character.
This woman is more precious than rubies!
If she is married her husband trusts her!
Her beauty resonated from the inside! Her godly character!
Like wisdom itself, the virtuous woman is a rare and precious treasure. Scripture is saying, then, that the value of a virtuous woman is greatly to be desired.
She is a gift from the Lord!

13 and with her own hands she gladly makes clothes.
14 She is like a sailing ship that brings food from across the sea.
15 She gets up before daylight to prepare food for her family and for her servants.
16 She knows how to buy land and how to plant a vineyard,
This capable woman is exclusively dedicated to and devoted to her home.
The worthy woman’s work is not a duty, it is the desire of her heart;
This woman's work it is not labor, it is the delight of her life;
This woman’s work is not a punishment, it is a pleasure.
All that she does for her family is truly a labor of love.

This amazing woman may have a family and a house to run and therefore cannot afford the luxury of sleeping late.
She is up early in preparation for the day!
The exceptional woman is enterprising: through her labor and investments she contributes to her family’s income

17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker.
18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night.
19 Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber.
here is something Interestingly, lazyness is one of the most ridiculed and despised vices in Proverbs.
But the amazing woman scripture describes will never be accused of being lazy.
Her industriousness is emphasized throughout this passages.
She does not merely labor from light to light: her work begins before the sun rises and continues after it has set.
The praiseworthy woman is not afraid of hard work. While she is lovely and feminine, she is not delicate and pampered. She works tirelessly and vigorously.
The amazing woman is wise in her dealings and sees to it that she receives a satisfactory return for her investment of time and labor.

20 She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.
Listen to me - The bible says this godly woman hands are eager and energetic and are extended to the poor
She labors long and late into the night, not only to clothe her family but also to help others who are disabled, unemployed, or poor
As I read the proverbs - one of the most outstanding qualities of the wise and the righteous is their care for the poor!
21 She does not worry about her family when it snows, because they all have fine clothes to keep them warm.
22 She makes coverings for herself; her clothes are made of linen and other expensive material.
This Godly woman has n foresight: She knows how to provide for the future welfare of her household.
The bible talks about this e diligent wife and mother preparing warm garments her family will need when the snow comes.
She knows hard times are coming and she does not procrastinate.
The noble woman takes great pride in her appearance and in making herself attractive and appealing !
“For all her strength and business acumen, she is still elegant.”

23 Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders.
Behind Every Good Man Is A Great Woman
The excellent woman’s husband is a leader in the community.
In the bible we See, The city gates were the center of major activity for the area.
Everything important that happened in a city occurred at the gates.
This is where business, political, and legal affairs were transacted.
Land may refer to the city within the gates, or it could mean that his influence extends beyond the gates to the region or nation.
The virtuous woman’s husband is successful outside the home because of her diligence and support in the home.
She complements her husband’s talents and gifts. As a result, he considers her skills equally important and he fully supports her.
They help and lift each other up.
She and her husband are a team that cannot be divided or defeated.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.
28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her:
29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”
Although the amazing woman is outwardly attractive and elegantly adorned, her true beauty is inner beauty!
She has strength, dignity, and confidence in the future.
She is wise and kind: She gives helpful and reliable counsel.
Throughout Proverbs, one of the chief attributes of wisdom is a gracious and controlled tongue.
When this noble, virtuous woman opens her mouth, only wisdom comes out
She does not speak foolishly, wickedly, or with evil intent.
She stays alert to what goes on in her family:
She is not idle—does not ignore any matter..
This capable woman is again praised, she will always protect her family.
She is not passive in this area; she is watchful for anyone or anything that might threaten her family.
She is openly praised by her children.
Her children want the world to know how precious she is to them. She is the force behind whatever success they achieve.
They unashamedly stand and bless her name.

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
31 Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
What makes the excellent, noble woman such a cherished treasure? What is behind all that she is and does?
a. She is not focused on deceptive and fleeting beauty,
The value of the noble woman is not based on her pleasing personality, nor is it determined by her physical beauty.
b. She fears the Lord (v. 30b).
I’m going to leave this with you
Here is the secret of the virtuous woman,
Here is what makes her priceless and incomparable:
She is praiseworthy because of her reverent, submissive relationship with the Lord.
She has an impeccable character and great integrity.
She is loyal and trustworthy.
She does good, not evil.
She is diligent and industrious.
She makes wise financial decisions.
She is compassionate toward the needy.
She is prepared for the future.
She is strong and honored.
She is confident and bold.
She has great hope for the future.
She controls her speech, which is always holy and gracious.
She instructs others in truth.
She is kind and fair with others.
All of this is a result of her relationship with the Lord.
Here is a freebie
Her exceptional worth is based on her fear of God
Men please do not choose your wives because of their popularity or beauty.
Select a woman who is characterized by her genuine reverence for and humble obedience to God,
The fruit of her hands refers to all that she has done throughout her life, both for her family and for the community-at-large. It includes …
• the garments and coverings she has sewn
• the house she has beautifully decorated
• the delicious meals she has prepared day by day
• the businesses she has started
• the maidens she has managed
• the needy she has helped
• the people she has counseled and instructed
Yet, this is not all she has done. It includes something much greater than these.
She has put everything she has into raising and nurturing a family skilled in successful living,
She has put everything she has into her right relationship with God!
A virtuous woman
