Daniel 3:19–25 KJV 1900
Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
There are thousand of religons and types of worships to some sort of god.
It may be good to live by, but is it good to die by!
Great crowds followed Jesus in the beginning of His ministry.
When He said, “Eat my flesh and drink my blood then—many turned back!
What about you?—Will you stand the test?
Are will your religion pan out when you are test with what you say you believe?
I. GOD’S PEOPLE WILL BE TRIED
… they that live Godly shall suffer persecution ... “ No matter where you live, you will be tried if you are God’s child!
Three things happen to people when they are tried!
A. They Are Toughened: Paul said, “All of this to further the Gospel!” Today we are in Holy War! A Crusade against sin and Satan!
B. It Will Teach Us: (John Bunyan in Bedford Jail)
C. It Will Tender Us: People are too hard hearted today!
II. THE PRICE OF COMPROMISING
Daniel 3:5 KJV 1900
That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
Oh! The shame and reproach!
There are some things which we have compromised:
A. Preaching: Old fashioned preaching is about gone!
B. Churches: We need to hold our teenagers!
C. Holy Living:
Titus 2:11 KJV 1900
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
D. Holy Spirit: People today sing like Angels and coo like Doves but are short of the power of God!
E. Emotions: Ashamed to cry over the lost!
F. Testimony: Like Lot in Sodom.
III. THE POWER OF GOD TO DELIVER
A. Fiery Furnaces of life:
B. The Three Hebrew Children: “Oh! King, live forever!”
C. Faith of The King: “Blessed be The God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedego!” God is still able to deliver today!
