We are called to be Salt and Light in our community
We are called to be Salt and Light in our community
Matthew 5:13-16
13“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Salt and Light
Salt is appealing —> Salt Provides Flavor
The Message of the Gospel is to be appealing as it provides Hope and Peace
Hebrews 6:19- We have a hope like an anchor to our souls....
Do they see that hope in our lives and desire it?
Are we like the bag of Lays Chips that has you going back for more
Salt is Preserving —> It extends the life and use of something
Are we preserving and building up our community
Providing life by lifting up the arms of our neighbors and community leaders?
Are we pointing to the ONLY one who can give us life?
John 11:25-
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live”
Light brings Hope for the Future and Confidence for what is right in front of you!
“Can you see the Light at the end of the tunnel”
or Sailors that see a lighthouse out on the oceans have hope they have almost reached their destination.
Psalm 147:10-11
The Lord rejoices for those who put their Hope in Him and not what they see
Let’s be salt and Light, so our community can Taste and see the Goodness of God as He works in Us!
