The Unintended Effects
The Unintended Effects
What are some unintended effects that we could see in revival?
Someone called into the ministry
Someone called into the mission field
The political policies shift in Knox county
The completion of God’s plan in the world
Genuine revival has far-reaching effects:
vs. 21-22 - Notice the personal actions displayed in these verses
4x’s in these verses and twice in v. 23, God is going to use the first-person pronoun “I”
I will shake - This is a time of upheaval unlike the shaking of v. 7
I will overthrow - Same action is described of God’s destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Gen. 19:25
Notice the singular throne - speaking of the governmental seat of authority.
Notice the plural kingdoms - speaking of the nations
I will destroy - speaks to destruction unto extermination
All of these spiraling actions of God are pointed at the ungodly.
There are far-reaching effects when revival breaks out on the life of the ungodly.
v. 23 Look at far reaching effects of the godly:
I will take you - in that day
I will make you - a signet ring
For I have chosen you - says the Lord of hosts
Application for us:
Application for us:
Recognize the two-edged sword of God’s word:
It is for salvation and edification.
Or it is for condemnation and judgement.
Never underestimate the work of God:
He does not work on our time-table
But, we should strive to work on His.
Recognize your exaltation in Christ:
The world may seem on top today.
But they will watch as He exalts His people in the end.
