Sermon Main Text:

2 Samuel 12: 1-23
Christians struggle with 4 intangibles as they grow in their faith. This intangibles should become easier as one grows in sanctification. These 4 intangibles are all core to the Christians who has confessed Christ; and is truly saved
The four struggles of all Christians:
Acknowledgement and Hatred of Sin
Confession of Sin
Remorse of Sin
Forgiveness of Sin
I. David the King checks each one of these identify markers.
A. Acknowledgement and Hatred- David checks this Marker in verses 12: 5-6 ; 12: 13-14
B Confession of Sin- David checks this Marker also with in the same verse. 12: 13-14
C. Remorse over Sin: David checks this Marker in verse. 12: 15-18
D. Repentance is also shown within David in verse. 12: 19-20
E. Forgiveness for Sin- David checks this Marker in verse. 12: 12-25
II. A person who doesn’t hate sin, is a person who’s heart is a constant state of evil.
A. Genesis 6:5
III. Hating sin is a Key Marker in the Growth of the Christian. Not condoning sin and having a healthy hate for it, is by far the hardest thing to do: David over his life showed that his heart really did reflect that of Christ. As we explore the Psalms we see Davids out look towards sin

B. Psalms 11:5 The Lord’s soul hates those who love violence
C. Psalms 106:40 Even when believers are in sin, the Lord burns with anger
D. Psalms 26:5 We should try hard not to form a brotherhood with those who are wicked
E. Although, God is grace and he bestow grace upon us at his will and discretion. We should fight hard to keep his commandments.
Conclusion: Closing:
Awareness, Brokenness, and Change is acronym that is used in biblical counseling. It is better known as A.B.C in its own right I would have to say that this is the process of Sanctification. Let’s walk through it. When Christ first effectually called you and pressed upon your heart you became aware that you needed him. You realized you needed him because without him the weight of sin in your life was to great. Next, after you realized the weight of sin it broke you and the need that you had turned to a want. That want lead you to repentance and from there it lead you to change. This cycle should be evident in the life of the believer. If you can’t identify it , it doesn’t mean your not saved, but it could be the caused of some unacknowledged sin, or UN-confessed, or maybe you did something and you had little to no remorse, or maybe repentance has taken place, or maybe you are still holding on to some guilt. Whatever, it is you have a savior who loves you and that is waiting to embrace you. However, if it is not there then maybe you haven’t really asked God in you heart and your not saved, or you thought you have and after today you realized my believe has been in vain. Here is the good news you to still have that same savior ready to embrace you. There is no sinners pray and know magic tricks. On your knees to night you can truly turn your life over to Christ
