13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

Prepare your minds - roll up your selves and be ready

Gird up your skirt - Role up your selves

Ready Every Day | Preaching Today

Sober-minded - take out the trash - continually

Totally self-controlled

All too realistic drunkenness

Negative beliefs - I am dumb, I have no value, Why am I even alive?

Gossip - work/family

Set your mind fully on - locked and loaded

Set your mind on the future with God and live today in light of that.

Take every thought captive 2 Corinthians 10:5

Fill our minds with scripture - Ps 119:11, Phil 4:8

Obedience is the motivator (not conformed)

Holy - changed by God

Ready for him

Child of God

Fully on Jesus

Living in light of eternity
