God has an indestructable plan for your life.
God has an indestructable plan for your life.
John 5:4 - KJV For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
If God has a ln for us then we can rest assured that that plan was born of God and trherefore that plan has overcome the world.
When we think of overcomeing the world we usually think in terms of the here an now our surroundings. We often judge God by our circumstances or the status of the world right now.
This hasbn’t changed much from Jesus’ day, the jews were looking for a savior a messiah and they beoieved that their messaiah was going to come and set things straight. He was going to overthrow the oppressive Romans etc.
Jesus didnt come to overthrow an earthly government that was in place at the time. He came to complete a plan that was already in place form the begining of time.
His plane was a much better plan than the Jews. In the same way God’s plan will not always line up with our plans or what we think he should do.
So, who should be the one to change their plans? Who should change their thinking to line up with God’s plan for our life?
Right, if we want to live the indestructable life he has planned for us then we have to change how we think and see God to recieve what he has in store.
We can’t judge god’s lan by how well things are going down here. His plan is completely seperate from the world’s plan. His plan is not affected by the circumstances of thw world.
So, what is God’s plan and how do we live this indestructable life you speak of.
Matthew 7:24
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
We have two seperate accounts of the same story. What is the only difference?
On is built on a solid foundation (rock) and the other is built on a sinking foundation (sand).
The same rain, same floods, the same winds came to both houses.
He calls the man wise who built his house on the rock. That sounds pretty indestuctable to me. If house can survive torental rains, floods, and tornado winds and still be standing I would buy that house. I want to live in that house.
What happend to the house built onthe sand? The same rain, floods and winds caused it to have a GREAT fall.
Great = Megas - were we get the word Mega, exceedingly great, mighty.
So we see a picture here that this house didn’t survive the intital onslaught and just kinda fell over. We see a picture that it’s destruction was quick and complete. excceddingly great was the fall or collapse of it.
Each one of us is responsible for building our own house (life). We get to choose were and how we build it.
God has given us instruction on how to build this same house that was indestructable to the elements (storms of life).
Vs 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
What is the key word in this verse?
Doeth - we have to act upon God’s word. It can’t sit idley by in our hearts or our heads and fullfill what it was meant to do.
It has to be acted upon to produce the expected outcome of giving us a strong indestrctable life.
The only difference between the two houses was one was a doer the other was not.
Something interesgting I noticed, when we look around at other peoples houses we really can’t tell whos will withstand the rains, floods, winds. Everyone’s house is subject to the same storms.
I don’t beleive storms wait until your house is built. We are continualy buildign anf adding onto our lives. I’m sure alot of us feel like we are constatly cleaning up our lives after every storm. Rebuilding what was destroyed.
We don’t have to live that way, picking up, cleaning up, readdressing, repainting, etc. God intended for us to go thru storms strong and untouched.
The seconf key to living this indestructable life that not only stands fimr but produces waht god intednded.
Mark 4:3 - 3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
Not enough time to go to far into depth but I want to highlight a couple things.
Jesus is speaking here. He is telling a parable of seed and dirt.
As you can see in the sroty only one type of dirt produced any real sustainable growth.
The good ground. - soft and absent of thorns, and deep
The important thing to note is what the seed was. The seed was God’s word. The dirt is your heart.
It takes both to produce anything. The dirt really doesn’t care what seed is planted in it it will grow whatever is placed in it.
If you place fear, doubt, dishonesty, pride in your heart it will grow there.
It all depends on what you want you want to produce in your life. You have to be good ground and allow the seed of God’s word to grow.
All you really have to focus on is being good ground. The seed does the rest. If you are being a doer of the word of God then your are keeping the ground (heart) ready for God’s word to produce in your life.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.
God’s word is indestructable seed within it is everything we need to live an indestrcuctable life for God.
But even God’s word can not produce anything apart from being planted. It takes root in a persons heart and grows.
In conclusion, let me remind you that everyone is going to go thru storms, wether you are follwing God’s plan or not. We are not excempt from the elements of life because we are building on a solid foundation or actually DOING God’s word.
But after the storms are gone ( and they always stop). Your life will not be a wasteland that you have to piece back together.
You can experience the peace and Joy of God every day even during life’s storms. Just becasue its rainign outside doesnt mean your not partying on the inside.
