Prayer

I know that prayer is taken for granted . Many believe that prayer is just something you do, while many believe that it is useless. However, there are those who think that prayer is the lifeblood of a Christian life, that prayer makes life worth living. I know that jesus prayed often. We have shared many scriptures where Jesus prayed.

he prayed before his Crucifixion and he prayed on the cross. He prayed before healing and after he healed. he prayed before, during, and after miraculous works. Jesus was a prayer warrior.

In this sixth chapter of Matthew it is telling that his followers wanted to emulate Jesus.

He is teaching his disciples noit only the benefit of prayer but he is teaching them attitude one should have in prayer. In Luke 11, the parallel passage to Matthew 6, an Apostle ask Jesus to teach them how to pray, as John taught his disciples. Jesus then gives us these words, which some call the model prayer,

Matthew 6:9–13 AV

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Father i come to you as humble as I know how ,asking you for preaching power. Asking that you allow me to speak your words with boldness and conviction, that something I say strengthens a saint or bring someone to the altar asking what must i do to be saved.

Pray!

Now eventhough Jesus used these particular words, don’t think that your prayer has to be just like his prayer. This prayer is a guide not a rewuirement. However, it is a good prayer to know and to pray when there is nothing else you can say. For as i said earlier this has been called a model prayer, and it gives us a good way to pray.

The first thing i want you to know that this prayer, starts of with establishing a relationship with God. This is different then what we have seen in the past.

Abraham prayed to Adonai or master!

Moses prayer to Elohim and Yahweh!

Even David prayed to Elohim and Yahweh, Lord and I am,

But jesus spoke of a new relationship. for Jesus establish that relationship of love ,!

Our Father

Oh it is special when , you got a family relationship with God.

It is one thing to have a lord, but it is special when that Lord is your father.

Because you can take some things to father you can’t take to someone else. for the love of a father is special.

But when he says Our Father, it not only establishes a family relationship with God but it establishes a relationship with each other.

When we come to realize that we all have the same father then we can truly be what God what God wants us to be!.

we may not live in the same house but we have the same Father

We may not have the same stuff but we have the same father.

May not have gone to the same school, shopped at the same store, grew up in the same neighborhood but we have the same Father. we are truly sisters and brothers in our relationship with God.

And since we our his children, we should act like it and be worthy to carry his name and his lineage.

Which art in heaven!

The thing that it is most important is that we realize that the spirit of God has a home, heaven. I don’t know where heaven is, don’t know if it is up, down, a parallel universe, that is to deep for me, I do know that it is a real. And what i have come to understand, that when i pray I touch God. You see prayer is not an exercise of the lips, but an exercise of the mind and heart. For if my heart is right, if my mind is right , i make a little connection with my Father who is in heaven. And my Father, who is in heaven allows me to reach him, where ever it is , i an reach him. And that is good news.

Hallowed be thy name.

This is when i recognise that this entity with whom I have established a relationship, is still special. he has been set apart for worship. He us special and I should recognize him as special

he is special in my words, in my actions and in my thoughts.

My thoughts reflect his greatness, and just how blessed i am to have him as my Father.

I speak his name in reverence and not take his name in vain.

My actions reflect that i know he is holy ,and since he is my Father I try to be just like my Father and be holy in my actions, in my worship I reflect his worthiness.

Praise him,

he is worthy of honor

Bless his name

reverence him

For he is worthy!

Thy Kingdom come

We realize that America as great as it is , is not as great as the Kingdom of God!

There is no Government, nation, kingdom as great as the kingdom of God!

And as great as the Kingdom of God is we also realize it has not come yet!.

For the Kingdom of God will not be established by who has the most money!

The kingdom of god will not be established by the one who has the biggest army or the most bombs.

The kingdom of God will be a moral kingdom!

The Kingdom of God will be A just kingdom!

Won’t be no unlawful killings like George Floyd in In God’s Kingdom!

The Spirit of god will rule in God’s Kingdom!

So you know we are not there yet and that Kingdom is still to come.

Yet we must want that kingdom and we must act to bring that kingdom to the be!

We have to work to bring that Kingdom into fruition. in our hearts and in our lives and in our church.

That is a prayer of prophesy! pray for something before it happens. it may not come all at once but pray until something happens!

that is the power of prayer!

Thy will be done

God’s will is righteousness!

God’s will wisdom!

God’s will love!

We must accept God’s will in the bitter and the sweet!

That we want what God wants!

And what God wants is what we want!

So that our prayer is merely a reflection of godly intent not human desires.

In earth as it is in heaven,

Scripture says that the Seraphim, and the Cherubim that heavenly host serve God. Scripture talks about the Angels doing God’s bidding.

Scripture says there once was dissension in heaven but God kicked him to curb and that everybody and everything is on one accord where god is!

Even down here we should seek to be like the Angels and the Saints who are with the Lord?

Your will be done!

For one day I want to be there, in that place .

I want to walk with my resurrected body, in a new jerusalem, i want to be there where every day is Sunday and the Sabbath have no end!

but until that day I got to work here to make here like there, until i get there . Until that day ,I got to do and I will and I will pray!

Give us this day our daily bread

We must not look to far into the future. Today blessing is sufficient unto today!

Father get me through today, and i will ask you about tomorrow tomorrow!.

When the Israelites were in the dessert, and God gifted them with heavely bread fro the sky!

The bread could not be saved!

It was only good for one day and then it would turn to worms. Some folk try to stash it but they could not!

it was only good for one day !(except the day before the Sabbath then you could get two days) but the principle is the same.

God I thank you for today! Iu thank for the blood running warm I thank you for an articulation of speech and movement of limb today. I count my blessing today!

Our bread, my blessing!

i am glad he has blessed you, but what God has for me is for me. We got to stop trying to compare what God has done for someone else or has done for some else with what he has done for you!.

be happy with your blessing! and accept his will!

We we pray this we realize that it all comes from God! we are dependent on him!

We are the sheep of his pasture, it is he who had made us and not we ourselves.

Matthew Ver. 12

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive them that trespass against us

Some people say tress passes or debts, but it really means sins.

What this is a call for grace.

It is a call for Our Father to forgive us . And his forgiveness can be earned and it is not a quid pro Quo for our forgiving others. However it shows where our heart is !

Unless we have a forgiving spirit it is impossible to seek the pardon of God. When we forgive it opens us up to receive the spirit of God and makes us more suitable to receive mercy!/

We don’t trade God forgiveness for us forgiving, but we our forgiveness shows God where our heart is so that he can forgive us our trespasses.

How can you worship of God of Love with hate in your heart!

How can you worship a God mercy with a unforgiving spirit

How can you expect God to bless you when you have a hard heart!

If Steven could forgive as he was being stoned, and Jesus could forgive while being tortured, why can you not forgive !

Sin is a debt, but he paid it all!

King James Version Chapter 6

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil

temptation is a part of life!

temptation is a trial or test or a storm

temptation is what generally leads us to sin!

What this saying is that give us strength is the midst of temptation, give us strength in the midst of storms give us strength in the midst of trails and test.

but we must understand in order to be lead you must follow.

I must admit that sometimes when you follow the leader , it seems that there are some rogh places. Sometimes when you follow the leader, and when you are being led, you cry out whyt lord? why me ? how can i make it. And I know they say the Lord won;t put more on you than you can handle. but you may not know the story. And it may seem that there is more on your plate that you can handle , you have reached the end of the rope, and this is the straw that broke the camels back. But remember, if you are being led, then the leader is there with you. The spirit of God led Jesus into the wilderness to be tested and tempted, but the spirit of God was there with him. When you are going through that same spirit of God is the e with you , protecting you from evil.

That same God that allows temptation is the same God that will deliver you from evil.

Deliver me from sin

Deliver me from an unforgiving heart

Deliver me

That same God who allows the storm will be the same God who rescues you from the storm

That same God !

Yeah though i walk through the valley of death thou art with me ,thy rod and staff they comfort me!

Matthew Ver. 13

Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory:

Your kingdom your world!

It is your world God

and I praise you

It is your world God

and I worship you

it is your world God

and i lift you Holy name,

And Lord you have the Power

I know you are able

Able to change night in to day

Able to sickness to health

Able to make away out of no way!

Power to save !

Power to change a sin sick world!

I know who my God is!

i have faith in the father !

Give hin Glory

Give him praise

For he is worthy
