Revelation 19:11–16 NKJV
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

Here is a picture of Jesus Christ coming to earth the second time, with His angels, to rescue His people and destroy the wicked.
Revelation 1:7 NKJV
7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
Revelation 6:14–17 NKJV
14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Revelation 20:1–3 NKJV
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

What is the Bottomless Pit?

Bottomless pit or dragon.
Just after the Second Coming, Satan will be imprisoned here on earth (see Jeremiah 4:23-27) with no living persons to deceive
Jeremiah 4:23–27 NKJV
23 I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void; And the heavens, they had no light. 24 I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled, And all the hills moved back and forth. 25 I beheld, and indeed there was no man, And all the birds of the heavens had fled. 26 I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness, And all its cities were broken down At the presence of the Lord, By His fierce anger. 27 For thus says the Lord: “The whole land shall be desolate; Yet I will not make a full end.
Genesis 1:1–2 NKJV
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

What are the Redeemed doing during the Millennium?

Revelation 20:4 NKJV
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
(3) The resurrected believers do not stay on earth, but ascend in the air to meet Jesus in the clouds and go to be with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). We live and reign with Him in the heavenly places He has prepared for us. What does reigning with Him entail? More about that in a little bit.
Revelation 12:7–8 NKJV
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
dragon vs Jesus
John 14:1–3 NKJV
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
The redeemed take the place of the fallen angels.
John 5:22 NKJV
22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
Judgment is given to Jesus. Would He share that judgment with us? We saw in recent lesson that He wants the angels to understand His ways of saving and judging, and so He involved them in the judgment. Does He want us to understand as well?
John 12:47–48 NKJV
47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
Jesus does not have as His goal to condemn people but to save them (John 3:17). He appeals to all to receive the free gift of salvation He purchased for them with His own blood. But many refuse to accept it or to even listen to His voice. They have caused their own lost condition. They condemn themselves.
Illustration: George goes to the doctor because he feels pain in his abdomen. The doctor diagnoses cancer in an early stage and prescribes treatment that is very effective. George does not like the treatment and stops it. After a time the pain returns stronger than before. He returns to the doctor and is told that the disease has progressed past the treatable stage. Though the doctor would love to do something more, now there is nothing that can be done. The doctor didn’t do it, George did it to himself. (Stubborn picture)
1 Corinthians 6:2–3 NKJV
2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
During the 1000 years the judgment will not open records that deal with those who are saved. Theirs cases have been dealt with and are sealed. The records of the lost are opened so that the saved can better understand why some people they knew and loved could not be saved. They will see that the lost had no true faith or repentance, and thereby they had not truly received the grace of God into their hearts. They will review the story of the rebellion of the angels in heaven and how God dealt with them. They will deal with questions such as, “Could God have avoided the rebellion or stopped it sooner?” When the whole story is laid open before the saved, they will say, “The Lamb who was killed is worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise” (Revelation 5:12).
2 Thessalonians 2:8–12 NKJV
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Revelation 5:12 NKJV
12 saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
Revelation 20:5–6 NKJV
5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
