God can fullfill your desire
1 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; 2 May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; 3 May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah 4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.
Everyone here wants God to fullfill their heart’s desire.
God wants to fullfill the desire of his people,
In order for God to fullfill our desires, there are things that we must do.
We must fear the Lord
18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. 19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
Those who fear him, God has promised to fullfill their desires,
Why Those who fear him?
when you walk in the fear of the Lord, you desire wont be evil,why?
because the fear of the Lord by defination hating evil
13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.
6 In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good, But the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Therefore God will not fullfill the desire of the wicked but of the righteous those who walk in the fear of the Lord.
3 The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish, But He casts away the desire of the wicked.
24 The fear of the wicked will come upon him, And the desire of the righteous will be granted.
let us walk in the fear of the Lord, let us hate evil and cleave to the good, and God will fullfill our desire.
2.Delight in the Lord
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
What does it mean to delight in the Lord.
It means to delight in what he delights
Delight to do his will
8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”
Delight in his commandments
1 Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
Delight in the law of God
174 I long for Your salvation, O Lord, And Your law is my delight.
Delight in the ways of the Lord
1 Then Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel. 2 And he placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which Asa his father had taken. 3 Now the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, 4 but sought the God of his father, and walked in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel. 5 Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah gave presents to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance. 6 And his heart took delight in the ways of the Lord; moreover he removed the high places and wooden images from Judah.
Jehosophat took delight in the ways of the Lord.
Abide in Christ
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
3. Fullfill the desire of the Lord
43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
The pharisees and sadducees were willing to go to extra mile to fullfill the desire of their father the Devil.
I wonder do we go about to fullfill the desire of God our father with the same zeal that the people of the world do for their father.
Our bibles is filled with examples of people who fullfilled the desire of the Lord and God fullfilled theirs as a result.
Hanna prayed to fullfill the desire of the Lord
the shunamite women’s desire was fullfiled when she sought to fullfill the desire of the man of God
the three mighty men who risked their lives to get water for King David 2 Samuel 23:15-17
let us fullfill God’s desire and he will fullfill ours.
