What did you have for lunch today?
What did you have for lunch last Wednesday…the Wednesday before that?
Why don’t you remember?
Because what you ate for lunch a week ago doesn’t necessarily give you strength for today.
At the time, it gave you strength and it gave you nourishment.
What would happen if you didn’t eat for this week?
Would you blame last Wednesdays lunch for your weakness and hunger today?
No, because you didn’t eat.

Now you may be wondering, “what does this have to do with anything?”
I want you to listen to what Jesus said about Himself....there was a title that He gave Himself, that gives us a glimpse into our spiritual lives that we can’t miss.
Anybody want to guess what title I may be talking about?
One of Jesus titles is “Bread of Life”
John 6:35
35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
In other words, what Jesus is saying is “Your relationship to me is like spiritual food.”
So going back to our conversation about last weeks lunch.....Do you do that with spiritual food?
For so many people, they only eat on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights
God did not create us for relationship only once or twice a week…He created us for everyday relationship.
Think of the strength and nourishment you are missing out on, when you limit your time with God to just these times (Wednesday nights)
Last week we talked about the importance of being transformed and not conformed.
Transformation that happens with salvation is a one time event, but transformation that comes about with the renewing of the mind, happens over a lifetime…it happens day by day.
Spending time cultivating our relationship with God through reading Scripture, to prayer, to personal reflection.
ABC’s of salvation
ABC’s of salvation
Prayer (pray this in your heart, as I pray it out loud)Dear Lord Jesus I believe you're the son of God. I believe that on the cross you took my sin, my shame, and my guilt, and you died for it. You faced hell for me so I wouldn't have to go. You rose from the dead to give me a place in heaven, a purpose on earth, and a relationship with your father. Today Lord Jesus I turn from my sin to be born again. God is my father, Jesus is my savior, the Holy Spirit is my helper, and heaven is my home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
