Faith Vs. Logic - P2

Part 1
John 11:11 ESV
After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”
Remember the Disciples thought if he was asleep he would recover…
But Jesus was talking about His death
Jesus told them in V 14-15
Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died, 15 and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe!
We dealt with Lazarus being dead and in the tomb for 4 days
We dealt with the Logic of Martha
“Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
John 11:23–25 ESV
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
Martha logic knew Jesus in a certain way… Her logic knew in a resurrection
But her Faith didn’t know Him as the “I AM” - As the resurrection
John 11:28–31 ESV
When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary, saying in private, “The Teacher is here and is calling for you.” And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him. Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him. When the Jews who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.
“But when the visitors saw Mary rise quickly and go out, they immediately assumed that she had gone to visit the tomb of Lazarus.”
It was the custom, especially for the women, for a week after the burial to go to the tomb to weep on every possible occasion.
Jesus saw Mary and all the sympathizing crowd weeping.
We must remember that this would be no gentle shedding of tears.
It would be almost hysterical wailing.
For it was the commonly held view of the time that the more unrestrained the weeping, the more honour it paid to the dead.
John 11:32–34 ESV
Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.”
“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
Logic is speaking again....
When he saw her weeping
The Jews who come with her also weeping....
He was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled
Deeply moved should be translated as Indignant…
Jesus was moved to anger in his spirit…
Anger: a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.
He was annoyed… Displeased
His disciples didn’t understand him…
Martha approached him think she knew but she really didn’t…
Mary is at His feet weeping
And the crowd around her was putting on a show!!
Jesus said “Where have you laid Him?”
Jesus is asking the same question....
Where have you laid Him?
“Him” represents what you thought was dead…
You thought it was over....
There is no more hope…
We can’t bounce back from this…
Physiologically we place these people/Situations
In our subconscious
your conscious mind can be thought of as the gardener, planting seeds, your subconscious mind can be thought of as the garden, or fertile soil, in which the seeds germinate and grow.
This is another reason why harnessing the power of positive thinking is important to the foundation of your entire thought process.
Because of things in our past or experiences…
We will suppress these thoughts and feelings....
Not knowing from that seed.... weeds are growing
Where have you laid Him?
John 11:35–37 ESV
Jesus wept. So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?”
Jesus wept.... Not because of the situation but because of the people connected to the situation!
Some people said.. See how he loved Him!
Others with Logic said…
“Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?”
My faith has to over my logic....
My faith is in the right place....
