Intro: Today will be a little bit of a different service than what you are used too. We as Baptist if we are not careful we become to robotic in our services. Today this service is going to be dedicated to healing. This service will be very interactive as I teach on the various parts of this passage. I'm going to provide you the opportunity to respond.
Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. Elijah was a human being as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its fruit. My brothers and sisters, if any among you strays from the truth, and someone turns him back, let that person know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

II. What do we need to do in order to see PHYSICAL healing

A. Elders pray and anoint
oil throughout the Old Testament symbolized divine favor, the presence of God, and blessing. The olive tree could grow in a very harsh environment and was a symbol of God’s divine care.
B. Faith
You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
Why does a person desire healing?
C. Confession of sin Eph. 5:12 More than likely. This is referring to sin that requires confession to others in order to make it right. Sins committed against individuals.
D. Christ's righteousness that comes through confession.
So if this is in scripture then why don't we ask for this more often?
