I. What is our evaluation for thanking God?

• Its Basis

o Thanksgiving is based on the past.

• Its Exhibition

o Thanksgiving is exhibited in the present. (we were encouraged 3:6)

• Its Expectation

o Thanksgiving is expectant for the future.

II. Paul’s History in Macedonia & Achaia (I Thessalonians 1:3-10)

Thanksgiving is based on history.

1. The Word from God is sound forth by them.

2. Their faith toward God is going out within every place.

3. They themselves are reporting what kind of entrance we have for you.

III. Paul’s Exhibition in Macedonia & Achaia (I Thessalonians 2:1-13)

Thanksgiving is based on history.

1. Our exhortation came in a manner as we were approved by God.

2. We were pleased to impart to you the gospel of God and to impart our souls.

3. You became beloved ones for our benefit.

IV. Paul’s Exhibition in Macedonia and Achaia (I Thessalonians 2:14-3:8)

If you are standing firm in the Lord.

Thanksgiving is based on history.

1. You became imitators of the churches in Judea.

2. You became imitators of the churches in Judea.

3. We endeavored to discern your present stance in the Lord.
