Having seen God come down to meet Moses and Elijah in previous weeks in our series on the Transfiguration, we now get to the event itself. Where previously humans could only get a glimpse of God, in Jesus we discover that God has now come in all his fullness to meet us. Everything about God that we've seen so far is shown completely in Jesus, and God gives us one command concerning his Son: "listen to him!" Having shown us his compassion and grace, his holiness and righteousness, his sovereignty and his glory - having shown us that he is God himself - are we prepared to listen to Jesus? Will we follow his commands and honour him as the fulfilment of the God's plans for the world?
