Acts 2:1–16 NKJV
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” 12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” 13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.” 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

1. The Church was born on this day 2021 years ago and was the Lord Jesus idea.

Matthew 16:18 NKJV
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Who’s Church is it?

that’s right it is HIS Church.

there are a lot of people who like to be independent (I don’t actually mean independent I mean rebellion.) in their relationship with God.
Jesus being the messiah, said that He would build His Church.
you join a local congregation, you are born again into the Church.
Hebrews 10:24–25 NKJV
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

2. The Lord wants to use you to do mighty things on the earth.

John 14:12 NKJV
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

How are we going to do greater things then Jesus did?

The same way Jesus did through the power of the Holy Spirit.

John 1:32 NKJV
32 And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.
everybody has gifts.
1 Corinthians 12:6–7 NKJV
6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
We all have gifts.
not all the gifts are the same; that’s what 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 is all about.
we need each other to finish what God has called us to.
1 Corinthians 12:20–23 NKJV
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,
we need each other to reflect Christ on the earth.
when we are engaged in ministry we come here to get informed, empowers, refreshed, inspired, encouraged, equipped, engaged, and deployed.
we need each other. I need you. I hope that you need me: parking lot covid.

3. Not all gifts are platform gifts.

Martha had the gift if hospitality (Luke 10:38-40)

Barnabas had the gifts of giving, and encouragement (Acts 4:36-27)

Dorcas had the gift of mercy. (Acts 9:36-43)
