Proverbs 3:5–6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Here it means not trusting in your own understanding
A persistent refusal to follow your own wisdom
A persistent insistence of knowing God’s wisdom
Pushing past emotional responses to the Bible and drill down to what the Bible is actually saying
Finding God’s Perspective
Thinking through God’s Principals
Following God’s Paths
Parallel of Trust and Lean
Lean on God wisdom – peace and straight pathway
Lean on your own wisdom and your paths will be crooked.
Proverbs 28:26 ESV
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
This is a definition of sin – Leaving, ignoring or rejecting the path God has put before you, and creating and following your own path.
Proverbs 2:13–15 ESV
who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil, men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways.
