How much Lamb do you need?

Exodus 12:1–8 NKJV
1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. 4 And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. 6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. 7 And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. 8 Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
Do you know what the devil wants from you?
Simple answer would be, he wants to destroy you.
1 Peter 5:8 NKJV
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
He is seeking whom he may devour. More than anything in the world, he wants to devour your life. But he first must find a place in your life in which he can work. One of the places he will take advantage of us is in our times of suffering. It is why Peter wrote in verse 9 that suffering is experienced by everyone of us.
1 Peter 5:9 NKJV
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
The devil in interested in having a place. That is why we are told in Ephesians 4:27 do not give place to the devil.
Ephesians 4:27 NKJV
27 nor give place to the devil.
The word “place” in this verse means “opportunity”. Don’t give the devil an opportunity. He is looking for an opportunity, a place to dwell.
In Matthew 12 and Luke 11 Jesus said that when an unclean evil spirit leaves a person it returns to find the house swept and put in order he takes seven other spirits more wicked and they enter and dwell there.
It was clean, and there was a void there that needed to be filled.
The devil looks for a clean place, an opportunity, a void in your life that he can fill.
We are directed to create space in our life for God.
God inhabits the praises of His people, praise is His people making space for Him.
The Christian should not allow any place for Satan to take a space in your life. It requires diligence, guarding your life and every avenue into your life that when a void is present the devil has no opportunity to fill it.
But to keep Satan out, you must know what God has given you.
Scripture says of the Christian their whole body belongs to God. Everyone say that, my life belongs to God.
Mind - You must refuse to lose your mind, or even lone it out. It must kept under guard by the Holy Spirit. Phil 4:7
Philippians 4:7 NKJV
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Heart - The Spirit of God keeps you from having a broken heart.
Soul
Life
Your today belongs to Him. Your tomorrow belongs to Him. You have to know what is yours.
Healing is yours, Peace is yours, Deliverance, Faith, Joy, Your children, your family is yours. Don’t let the devil take it away from you.
It may look like the devil has robbed you. But God has the last say in a blood bought Christians life! If God has said that it is yours, it is still yours.
It doesn’t matter what the enemy tries to convince you that it’s too late. God’s economy whatever is yours is still yours, it is never too late.

Book of beginnings

If you truly want to understand the scriptures, understand that the principles of God are repeated through out scripture, theologians refer to them as types and shadows. And the things that God is trying to teach us in His word repeat themselves through out.
Genesis is the book of beginnings, and that means that if the blood washed in the beginning with Adam and Eve, then the blood washes in the New Testament.
If there is substitution in Genesis the book of beginnings, then there is substitution in Revelation.
If there is faith in Genesis the book of beginnings, then there is faith in the book of Acts.
When God created the Earth He bounded it and divided it. He then furnished it and adorned it. Then he created a man and a woman in His image. He was placing His image on the earth in humanity. He breathed the breath of life into that empty vessel.
When man made the tabernacle according to God’s instructions, God filled it with His presence.
Here is the point: Everything that God forms, He will fill. God formed man, God filled man. God gives instruction for His house, when it is built, God’s presence filled it. God fills the spaces that he forms or we make for Him.

Life’s Voids

Paul wrote in Romans 8:28 that… All things work together for good to those who love God
Romans 8:28 NKJV
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Everything that happens in a blood bought Christians life is allowed by God. Sometimes those things do not feel like they are for our good. Some things happen that create voids, vacuums, space, and just plain emptiness.
We wonder how can that happen? I am a Christian. I am a child of God. I have been faithful, but it feels like God is not being faithful to me.
God is creating spaces for God to fill.
Isaiah said it like this… Isaiah 54:1
Isaiah 54:1 NKJV
1 “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord.
Barren, empty space… Sing!
Life will put all of us in situations where we have big needs!
Big problems, Big hurts, Big debts, Big dilemmas, big mountains that you think I can’t possibly climb that mountain. On top of all that it seems God doesn’t show up. At least that is what the enemy will tell you. That God has not shown up in your big need. Where is your God in all this, He hasn’t shown up yet?
But that’s not the way it is! God created the needs in the first place. Because all those big problems are just an opportunity for God to show Himself strong in your life.
He has done it before, He will do it again. I believe I am preaching to people who have been helped by God through some big problems!
David said by my God I have run through a troop and by my God I have leapt over a wall. You have some space in your life, you have a void in your life God wants to fill it up.

What not to do

Base expectations on what has happened in the past. Don’t allow your experiences of the past to pollute your faith for today. A child of God should not base today or tomorrow on the experiences of yesterday. Today is a new day! He is in your today, and He will be in your tomorrow!
Troubles do not change what He has said about you. This is how God works in people’s lives. He bound you and divide you, He furnishes you and He adorns you. He does it all to put His image in your life.
He wants to put His image in you. It is Colossians 1:27 - Christ in you, the hope of glory!
Colossians 1:27 NKJV
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Troubles do not change what He has said about you!
You might say “I don’t feel like that is happening.” It doesn’t matter what you feel. It’s what He has said over you!
Jesus said in John 7:37-38. If anyone thirst…that’s the void. The empty space.
John 7:37–38 NKJV
37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
He who believes in Me, out of his heart… He will fill the emptiness!
John 7:39 NKJV
39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
He will fill the emptiness in your life with His Spirit which He is giving because He has been glorified!
God wants to fill the empty places, and will fill the empty places. God can take the most difficult, disastrous situation in your life and fill it.
That’s what happened for Job, and that’s what He did for old Jacob. Jacob was so discouraged he didn’t know what to do, he had lost a son, and for years he grieved the loss. It created a void in his life, an empty spot. It looked like the God of his fathers had forsaken him. He lost too many things in life. There was a famine, they didn’t have any food and looked like they were going to perish.
But his sons ran into the house and told him. Father guess what, Joseph is alive! He is the governor of all the land of Egypt and he wants us to come there. But he couldn’t believe them.
Jacob said you leave me alone boys. Let me go to my grave in peace. Don’t lie to me. You have lied to me enough. Just let me die without you lying to me again. They said just come see what Joseph sent back with us, and when he saw the carts loaded that were sent to carry him to Egypt. It says the spirit of Israel revived and he said I will go and see him before I die.
God had made a lot of space in Jacob’s life. There was so much space that it just seemed like there was nothing but a void. But when the time was right, God filled that space.
Out of your loneliness, out of your pain, out of your troubles, out of your heartaches, out of your sorrows, out of your fears, out of the lowest places of your life, out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water.
God can take a dark situation and make it light as day! God can take a disastrous situation and turn it around into a victory! He does it all the time.

Out of Egypt

So God lead Israel out of Egypt by the strength of His hand. It was the middle of the year when God delivered the children of Israel. So God said this is a new beginning.
Exodus 12:2 NKJV
2 “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.
God took their calendar and just tore it up and threw it away. This is the beginning, it’s all starting over right now. It was a brand new beginning.
That’s what I love about living for God. He loves new beginnings. Every day is a new beginning. Every week. Every month. Every year. His mercy is made new every morning. God loves new beginnings!
Proverbs 24:16 NKJV
16 For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
Every time the righteous get up, it’s a new beginning!
God loves new beginnings!
God creates for Israel a new beginning, and He instructs them about the passover lamb.
Each man will take a lamb for his household, and if the house is too small then take what is left and give to the neighbors. You take whatever you need. You can have as little or as much as you need. How much do you need? That is what you can have.
You can have a lot or a little. Choice is ours, I need a whole lot.
He wants to fill the void and empty places of your life.
They that hunger and thirst shall be filled!
John 6:53 what Jesus said caused a lot of Jesus followers to leave him. He turned and ask his disciples “will you leave me also?”
John 6:53–57 NKJV
53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
He had just fed 5,000 people with a little bread. He had just walked on the water in a storm. Jesus said unless you get the lamb on the inside, you have no life.
Some people try to make it on things the world offers for satisfaction, but those things don’t satisfy. We need lots of lamb. He offers what will satisfy!
