Introduction: Once upon a time there was a man working in his garden. About 6 inches below the soil he discovered a large layer of rock. Upon further investigation it seemed like the rock was only a thin layer and sounds a bit hollow. So he started working at it with a sledge until all of a sudden the rock broke through a a spring of water burst forth that continued to produce a steady stream of fresh cold pure water for the rest of the man’s life. He was ecstatic to discover a spring that would never run dry.
Transition: In much the same way, our tilling through the garden of Galatians is helping us to break through the gospel and begin to discover there is a fresh flowing stream of benefits that come from being in Christ that will never run dry. Today, we begin in chapter five where we are going to see what it means to stand firm in the freedom that we have in Christ. (Read 5:1-6)
Begin: Working through these verses making a few observations.
