Hey man. Any special singing?

Good morning, good to see everyone and glad that you are here. So, beautiful day out, spend a beautiful week, hope everyone had a good week and it's good to see everyone back. Seems like we're Have a few more today than we normally do. And I like that. It's good to see everybody out and about

I'm going to say something. I've had a nice one and I forgot what it was. That's what happens when you don't write it down, see? Yes. Papa Yes, you can.

Okay. Alright.

Did you see? That's what happens when you get off, okay? All right, after service today, I want everyone to exit out this door right here, and I'm going out that way. Alright. That's right. That's exactly why. Wow, we're going to say something, I forgot what it was. I can't remember, say, I had a teacher says, a short pencils. Been a long memory, but I always thought alone memories, better and short pencil, but it's not when you turn 60. I know that. Well, maybe I'll think of it while I'm preaching or something like that, but we are glad that you are here and we're going to continue today in. In our series of Christ's death and Resurrection. And we've been on this for several weeks now, and we will probably have I'm thinking maybe three or four weeks three or four more sermons. What I'm going to do today is if you remember, we've been talkin about the death and Resurrection but everything prior to today, he has been before is there that we've talked about except on Easter morning? We talked about the resurrection but everything else has been pre death or pre Resurrection. Well today is going to be the first message about post-resurrection. So today we're going to talk about the title of this sermon is the proof of the Resurrection. Can we be sure that Christ is risen now? Can we be sure because none of us were there? I mean we went there we didn't see him walk out of that tomb. So what we have is what the Bible says were some of the church fathers have said it's kind of like you believe George Washington was the first president You say yes you say what? How do you know or are you there now? But we have history that tells us that. So today, what I want us to look at is the proof. Of the Resurrection. Now, if you remember, Thomas Jefferson, he's considered one of the country's great leaders and many people thought of him as a Christian man. But Thomas Jefferson, he rejected, large parts of the Bible. And the part that he rejected is he did not believe in any of the Miracles of the Bible, he didn't believe in the Miracles. Matter fact that he was so committed to that belief. That he added his own Bible, which was called the Jefferson Bible.

And in that Bible, he deleted all references to the Supernatural and the closing words of the Jefferson Bible said this. They're laid De Jesus and roll the great stone at the door of the Sepulchre and the party. That's how his Bible ended. In other words, when Jesus died when they buried him, that was the end of the Jefferson Bible because that was the end of the story as far as he was concerned. You know, it's amazing sometimes how people can follow Christ and they'll follow him all the way to the cross. And they believe that he died for their sin and they believe that he has forgiven them of their sin. But then that's the end of the story. The conclusion is Jesus died on the cross. And that's it for few years ago, there was about probably about 10 years ago. There was a movie that portrayed Christ in it ended with Christ on the cross nailed, to the cross, and it's just remarkable. That that's just the middle of the story. It just think about that, if all we had was his death, if Christ said well, I've come to die for your sins which he did and he did die for our sins. If that's all we have and there's nothing else. Then we have nothing. Cuz we just have one man's word that he died for our sins. And there he is laying in the ground. But I can tell you today, you can go to that tune where he was and you did all you want. You won't find any bones. I can tell you that cuz he walked out of that tomb on the third day, he is no longer there. The story does not end on at the cross. It be go it goes beyond the cross. And took neglect that is to neglect the gospel and far too many people teach today, the counsel of God and they bring people to Good Friday and they close it off it, Good Friday and doesn't mention anything about the message of the Resurrection Easter. Now, the Bible offers many, many word, pictures, if you will concerning the Lord's death and Resurrection every prophecy. Regarding Jesus's death is always coupled with a promise of the Resurrection, always, you will always find that in the Bible matter fact, the apostles in the early church, there main theme every time he would preach was the resurrection I remember after Jesus arose. Remember Peter at Pentecost and he was preaching all the people and he had healed the lame man. And and all the sudden he started preaching that he was telling the Jews, you were the ones that nailed him to the cross and they got angry about that. And they arrested Peter and John and in Acts chapter 4, verse to this is the reason they were arrested that they talk to people and preach in Jesus. The resurrection from the dead, they were arrested because they preach the resurrection people don't want to hear about the resurrection. Well, that's the core of the Gospel. Take it away. There's no e on gallion. You say what is that? That's the Greek word. For good news. You take the resurrection away, there's no good news and there's no legitimate Christian faith. The resurrection is what it says. Jesus apart from all the other would-be, saviors that have come and announce to the world that they are the Savior but like all of them. Death was the end of their story. You could close their story at death, you can put the Epitaph on, the tombstone at their death, but this is what makes Jesus unique. He predicted his death, he predicted his burial and he prophesied that he would walk out in 3 days. And that's exactly what happened. There's the difference right there, the scriptures record it and then people to try to disprove it, scientists trying to destroy the Christian faith. If you would, and there's been Skeptics and atheists and agnostics, who have studied the death and burial and resurrection of Christ, and they have turned to Christ because of the study that they have done. Because they know that it is real. So through his death. Yes. We are redeemed through his shed blood. Our sins have been atone for But all of that would be meaningless if he was still in the Tomb, his resurrection validated what he did on the cross. So, here's what I want to do today. I'm going to read one verse and ax13. And after that, I want to give you for proofs that we can find right in the word of God of how he validated his own Resurrection. How he came to the people that he cared about the most and the ones that he loved and how he showed them. That the resurrection was real. This is how he did it. So what I want to do is look in Acts chapter one and I think I put this on the slide and there it is. I'm going to read it from the Bible but you can see it up on the screen Acts chapter 1 and verse 3. And this is what the Bible says. To whom he also presented himself alive. This is how my Jesus after his suffering. After his crucifixion on the cross, he presented himself Alive by many infallible proofs. Mini it says I'm going to give you four. There's probably more being seen by them during 40 days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. Well let's just jump right to it. Let me give you the for proof and here's what we going to do. Three of them come from The Book of John chapter, 20 and 21. One comes from The Book of Luke, and I will try to put all those verses up here. But he use for infallible, proof to prove that he was alive and well, and that the resurrection did occur. And here's the first one. He used the scars of his body. He used the scars of his bodies. Now let's look at John if you will John chapter 20 just go back about two or three pages in your Bible. If you're looking at it in your Bible, John chapter 20 and I want you to look at verses 24 through 28. In the Bible, says now, Thomas called the twin one of the 12 was not with them when Jesus came. Now the disciples are in the upper room. Jesus had resurrected at this time, but it says, here, that Thomas was not with them when Jesus came. Now, look what it says in verse 25. The other disciples therefore said to him, we have seen the Lord. So he said to them, unless I see in his hands, the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and put my hand into his side, I will not believe. So the Lord had appeared to all the other disciples but Thomas was not there. And the other Cycles looked at, said, Thomas, we seen the Lord about a week ago. We saw him, he's resurrected, so I'm not going to believe it until I see I'm not allowed to touch those scars. Not do. I put my hand into his side? I will not believe verse 26. And after eight days, his disciples were again inside and Thomas with them. Jesus que no access the doors being shut. And stood in the midst and what he say to them, peace to you. Appointment on Zakaria Winston. I didn't longing for the peace of God. What he do when he first. He says, peace to you. Then he said to Thomas, this is Jesus. Speaking. The Thomas reach your finger here and look at my hands and reach your hand here and put it in my side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing I watch what Thomas says when he did it Thomas answers had my Lord. And my God. He's just saying he is alive. He is deity. So all the disciples together behind the doors, the Lord came and showed them that he was alive. They began to spread the fact but old Thomas went there. And he said, no, I'm not going to believe this not until I see him not till I touch him. And then the very next week, the Lord come again to the disciples. And he says, Thomas you, reach your finger here and you put your hand in to my side and then Thomas response to as one of the greatest testimonies my Lord, and my God in the comforting that Jesus. So desperately wanted Thomas to believe that he came to those disciples twice. He was willing to condescend to Thomas's unbelief and doubting and he came a second time. So that Thomas could know that he's the Risen Savior, you know, I was thinking this week. When we get to heaven. We will never be allowed to forget what Christ has done for us. Did you know that when we get to heaven everyday, we're going to look at the scars on his hand and feet and where they pierced him on the side. You said, how do you know that? How do you know that? That's what we're going to say because the Book of Revelation John cell, And I saw a lamp. Standing as if he had been slain. I think about that. I saw a lamb. Who's the Lamb of God? Jesus, I saw a lamb in heaven. That's Jesus. Standee. Standing as if he had been slain, what does it do? The world? Could you say something and see it standing? The resurrection of Our Lord walked out of that tomb and John saw a lamb standing as if it had been slain, in other words, the nail prints will be visible forever and amen, that's what's going to happen. He wants us to know that he is the Risen Savior. Well, that's number one. He proved that he had walked by the scars on his body. Number 2, he also used the sound of his voice and I want you to look at this, as in John chapter 20, same chapter And we're going to read verses 13 to 16. We're going to put on the screen, but let me go back a little bit more and redo a few verses before that. So it says here, that this is when the disciples come to look in the Tomb and verse 8, then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first went in and also, and he saw, and believed in other words, he saw, the Jesus was not there. Where is yet? They did not know the scripture that he must rise again. While how many times did Jesus told him that he was going to rise again over and over and over and over. But yet they didn't understand it first. 10 minutes siples went away again to their own homes. Not watch verse 11, but Mary stood outside by the tune weeping. And that she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels and white sitting one at the head, the other at the feet for the body of Jesus had lane and then we get the verses 13 to 16, then they said the speaking of angels Woman, why are you weeping? She said to them, because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have lading. That when she had said this, she turned around. I watch this and saw Jesus standing there and did not know that it was. Jesus notice how it says that she's followed Jesus, but she didn't know it was Jesus. Now watch what she says in verse fit are in verse 15. Jesus said to her woman, why are you weeping whom are you seeking? She supposing him to be the gardener and I maybe he had a weed eater in his hand maybe he was spraying why I hate him and I will take him away. So she thinks she's talked to the gardener. She said, he's not here. Not only did they crucify. I'm now. Someone has she turned and said to him rabboni. With me, you see? The human voice the tomb to take him stolen and then add injury to insult. You know what? Jesus said in John chapter 10, he's heard him audibly speak to me and said someone sneaking Jesus, I don't know where he is. You over there with friends, is a lot of voices out there in this world. Hear my voice, I know them and find this and Luke chapter 24. And that is, and we're going to read verses 28 to 32.

28 to 32. Now, this is a story of the two little. I'm just going to do an entire sermon on on this in about 2 weeks but I just want to give you a shot here. What's going on? Jesus appeared to two of his disciples on the way on the road to Emmaus and he talked to him and he all of a sudden he started explaining scripture to him. And they thought within themselves who in the world is this Who is this man explained in this script? They didn't know him just like, Mary thought he was a gardener. Just like Thomas, I won't believe it till I see if he's going to have to come here and show me well with these two, he use the sign of communion. So let's pick up the store here in Loop 24in. 3828 diverse 32 near to the Village. They were walking on the road there, where they were going, and he speaking of Jesus, indicated that he would have gone farther, but they constrain him saying abide with us. And other words, stay here with us to remain with us, the evening and the day is far, and he went in to stay with them. They were just so distraught because their savior had been, that's what they told Jesus to begin with. He said why you so sad but not look at it. Inverse 32 pass, as he sat at the table with them that he took bread blessed and broke it and gave it to them. What does that remind you of what he did? In the upper room that matters or fiction? Verse 31. Then when he broke the bread and gave it to open and they knew him and he vanished from their site. And I look what verse 32 Cent and they said one to the other Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us on the road. And while he open the scriptures to us, they knew something was different when he was explaining scriptures and they said their heart burn within them, but they didn't recognize him. As soon as he broke that bread and gave it to him. It says, their eyes were open. He used the sign of communion on the night of passover, for the Lord, initiated the new celebration all. And then he took Bread and Wine. He created this new Sacrament that we call the Lord's supper. And he said, take this bread, drink this in remembrance of me. He said, in other words, this was a special sign. Among one another, that Christ would surrender his body that he would die on the cross. In these elements signified, a new relationship between them than his disciples. They belong to one another just like those of us. If you were here this morning, you were saying we belong to Christ and we belong to each other. We are a family in Christ, that's what draws up together. Well, the disciple probably didn't think a whole lot about it at the time, but then when these two disciples was walking on these instead, they didn't see his hands didn't say anything about the nail pierced hands. They didn't recognize his voice because he talked to him and talk tonight but something inside them made their hearts burn, they knew they said something inside bread gave it to him and immediately they knew he was why, but I kind of communion because of what he did the night before he was crucified and they knew exactly who He bore and will close what we said so far. He use the stars of his body, toys, Mary. He use the sign of Camille ipl's on the road to Emmaus. And lastly, he used a similar experience. He's going to come at you like the fish. I know and you probably go thing fishing hole a lot. Well this is what Jesus does it. He uses a fishing experience efficient. Well let's look at it. John chapter 21, John chapter 21. And we're going to look at verses 3 through 7.

I look what Simon Peter said. I bet many of you, me and some beer said them. I'm going fishing. The melee got into the boat and that night. What do you know what, what that's like, you know, what's like, fish this? All day all night and don't catch, you think. I know what it's like to sit in the tree. Stand and go hunt and hardly even see a squirrel much less a deer. That's what they said, they caught nothing first for. But when the morning had now come Jesus stood on the shore and watch what it says yet. The disciples did not know that it was Jesus. The son Thomas, don't believe is Jesus. Married thought he was a gardener, the ones on the road to Emmaus, didn't even recognize him. He told them only thing. They needed something was burning in their hearts, but they didn't recognize it. And all of a sudden here, here's Jesus. And it says, they do not know it was Jesus verse 5. Then Jesus said to them, children, have you any food? In other words, what if y'all called, and they answered him. Know, we all have anyting and he said to them at the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some, so they cast. And now, they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish there for that disciple, whom Jesus loved, which is John said to Peter, It is the Lord. How did he know that? How did he know that it was Laura? Cuz I just looked out there and they saw a man standing on the seaside. He said y'all coming over there.

But I'm assuming all the fish come in the boat, it's the Lord. And it says, Peter throw it off his clothes and jumped in the water. And he went swimming, do it, because it was Lord. He didn't try to walk on water that time he went swimming to. Now, let me ask you. How could they have known? It wasn't a lord. When just a moment before they did. I tell you how because three years earlier, at the very beginning of his ministry, Peter, and Andrew been fishing all night and I had nothing to show for it. And Jesus come to him, say, cast your net on the other side and they cast the net on the other side. And they had so many fish on my boat. That the boat. Sank. The Bible says the same exact thing happens. Three years later after the resurrection, remember the Lord fed 5000 with a few fish. Did, you know, he did that twice? He did it. He uses the same miracles to prove that he had risen from the dead. You see? Jesus, orchestrated, this entire fishing Expedition Expedition, if you will. So that he might demonstrate who he is, who he was to his doubting disciples. You see? Jesus was Victorious over death. And I, look at these last 3 verses, John chapter 21 verses 12 and 14 what the Bible says. Do they come on in to Shore? And it says Jesus said to them come and eat breakfast. So he was sitting there. He'd already build a fire. He was going to cook for, and it says yet. None of this siples dared. Ask him who are you? Why? Because they knew it was the Lord knowing that it was Lord, Jesus being came and took the bread and gave it to them and likewise the fish and watch what it says in verse 14. This is now the third time Jesus showed himself to his disciples after, he was raised from the dead 3 times, he comes to her. To let them know. Yes, it's real. Yes you can be sure I walked out of that tomb. You see he used his scars with Thomas, he used his voice, the sound of his voice with Mary, he use the sign of communion with the cycles and he used a similar experience with the other disciples he loved them and wanted to reveal himself to them and friend, he still has that passion today. Aren't we blessed to have the word of God? So we can read this and see this. And where we can know, for sure, that he is alive today. He has communicated to us and he's asking us to believe as well, so that we may have life. Eternal, he continues to reach out to that. He reaches out through the church. He reaches out through your personal testimony, he reaches out through Podcast internet sermons. He'll even reach out to daily devotions. I bet I guarantee you he will do that. That's how he does it. And he keeps on reaching out to us with the message that he is alive. And because he is alive, we will be alive to one day. We will resurrect as well. Friends, you can count on it. You can take it to the bank you can count on that. It will happen. How do we know? Because he use the scars of his body. He used the sound of his voice. He used the sign of communion, and he used a similar experience. Jesus is risen, amen? Well, let's pray. Father, we do, thank you, praise you today. Lord for your word, or we just thank you that you are alive. A lord. When we think about it, we know that you are alive today on Earth, not bodily but you and dwell each of us in the persons of the holy spirit, all of us who have called on the name across all of us who are safe. You lived on, you live on the inside of us in the person of the holy spirit. Thank you that you're still on this Earth and thank you that you are inside of us. But we also know that you also live in heaven, today, that you were seated at the right hand of the father and you are making intercession for us. Thank you. Jesus. That we ever single one of us who call you by name that we are all on your prayer list and each and every day you take our name to the Heavenly Throne before the frost father and you pray for us and you intercede on our behalf Lord. I pray if there's anyone here that has ever doubted the resurrection that ever wonders. If Christ is alive, if they ever suspect that maybe he's not in, maybe this is not true, it may be. What I Believe is false. If there's anyone here today that has ever thought that Lord, I pray that you would just convicted out hard today and that we will know for ever that you are the Risen Savior by the scars of your body by the sound of your voice. We know that a sheep we hear your voice by the sign of communion. Every time we break bread together here at new Grace Baptist Church. We know that we are part of your family and by the similar experiences even of a fishing trip that you show up that you're the Risen Savior forcing Christ name. I do pray. And for his sake, amen.
