Intro - We are saved to be given power to be His witnesses upon the earth. Our dead human spirits couldn’t handle the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Paul’s Two Experiences - Acts 9:5, 17
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Cornelius’ Two Experiences - Acts 10:1, 2, 44-46
There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

Stimulates our faith
Spirit helps us in our infirmities
Refreshes us
Speak directly to God in a language only He understands.
Build ourselves up - Jude 20
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Inner man growing stronger and more powerful Eph. 3:16
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Stimulates faith.
Each has been given the measure of faith to grow. Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
The Spirit helps us in our infirmities - Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Refreshes us Isaiah 28:11-12
For with stammering lips and another tongue Will he speak to this people.
To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; And this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
