Ecc 1:1, 12 - Introduction
If you were given unlimited resources, power and money —what would you do?
Do as I say, not as I do — Ecc
Ecc 1:2 — Conclusion of the Matter — “Futility”
Ecc 1:3 — The burning question — What gain is there in futility?
Examples of Futility:
Nature: generations, sun, wind, water.
Satisfaction: doesn’t seem possible (eyes and ears)
Conclusion: There is nothing new, and nothing will be remembered — Futility
What gain is there?
Ecc 1:13 — My pursuit — examine all by wisdom
My conclusion: vanity, striving for nothing
It can’t be fixed or found (ecc 1:15)
Hope in God: Redemption in Christ
Christ is the wisdom from God
Christ endured the ultimate hebel
now nothing is in vain, all is gain in Christ.
