Graduation is a milestone of growth and maturity.
Paul, in writing to the church at Philippi, prays for his brothers and sisters in Christ with a prayer for maturity.
In the same way, I want to pray over each and every one of you with these encouraging, affectionate words.
First, I pray that your love will overflow ever so increasingly.
I pray that your love will overflow more and more towards God.
I pray that your love will overflow more and more towards others.
Secondly, I pray that you continually grow in knowledge and understanding.
Just like Austin and Blake are always together on the disc golf course, I pray that your heart and mind are always found together, cooperating to produce loving discernment.
Third, I pray that you will keep sight of what truly matters and live according to that truth.
I pray that Jesus will always be first and foremost in your life.
If Jesus is the cornerstone in everything that you do, I have no doubt that you will become a strong, steadfast tree that yields fruit in due season.
Last but not least, I pray that the fruit of your salvation will will give great praise and glory to God.
I pray that all that you are belongs to Jesus.
With Jesus, you won’t ever work yourself to death in anticipation of life results.
Rather, abiding in Jesus will produce a byproduct in your life that is of immeasurable worth.
“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.” John 15:4
