Leviticus 23:1-3

Introduction: Good morning church family and those who are guests with us in person and online!
I’d like to make you aware that you can give online at holmesavenue.com/give. If you’re visiting with us today or this is your first time with us in a while, you’ve caught us in the middle our sermon series “Holy God, Holy People”.
If this is your first time with us or maybe first time in a while, you’ve caught us on what is progressing to be the end of our journey through the book of Leviticus. We will have only a few more weeks in this study. We are continuing in this study focusing on how we are to be holy people who worship our holy God. God is holy; therefore, he expects His people be holy.
As you know, we stand to honor the reading of the word of God and as customary through the longer passages of scripture we’ve remained seated, but for these 3 verses, let’s stand together to honor the reading of God’s holy word.
Read Leviticus 23:1-3 and pray.

This section of scripture points us to the specific feasts of the Lord which Pastor Walter will cover next week. We will look at verses 1 and 2 briefly but will spend the majority of our time focusing on verse 3 today.
· Verse 1: This is something we’ve continually highlighted week after week. God is speaking and He speaks to Moses to then speak to the people.
o It’s always so incredible to stop and reflect on the simple fact that God speaks to His people, despite their wickedness and sin against Him.
