The Dreams of a king

There is confusion in the land

Daniel 2:1 ESV

In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his spirit was troubled, and his sleep left him.

My friends there is a Spirit of confusion in America today. A Spirit of Lost-ness in this country. A waywardness about the people. A waywardness in the Government.

So here is Daniel, minding his own business when the captain of the guard rushes into the room, “Daniel you are going to die. I have to take you. The king is restless. His dreams haunt him, and now you and your friends are unfortunately going to pay the price.”

“What is going on?” says Daniel.

Well the king had a dream. He wants it interpreted, but he wont tell the magicians what the dream was. This is madness. How can anyone do this daniel? They are not Gods, they are men, and cannot read minds.

When opinions aren t enough, what are people to do?

Church you and I live in an age where opinions run wild. this social media age has given rise to opinions on everything. People whose opinions really shouldn’t be heard are shouted from the rooftop.

This may offend some. but the reality is church. Just because someone breathes doesn’t mean they have anything valid to say. There are many people who share all kinds of thoughts and opinions, but their ideas are poison.

Blessed are the peacemakers

Matthew 5:9 ESV

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

You see Daniel sees this crisis, the king in his anguish is about to harm a lot of people, but daniel steps up and says, lets calm down and see what God has to say. I understand King that your sorcerers cannot do this impossible thing, but my king. My God God can bring the clarity you desire.

He became a peacemaker.

Don’t add to the confusion of the world.

Daniel 2:17–19 ESV

Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

What happened? Daniel bought himself time, but Daniel understood that the only thing that could satisfy Nebuchadnezzar was a word from God.

This world my friends doesn’t need another opinion, lecture, another conference. It needs a word from the most high.

Let the kingdom of God Reign.

Daniel 2:31–35 ESV

“You saw, O king, and behold, a great image. This image, mighty and of exceeding brightness, stood before you, and its appearance was frightening. The head of this image was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. As you looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

FEET OF IRON AND CLAY-Divided Nations

THE ROCK-The Kingdom of God!

Daniel then begins to explain to Nebuchadnezzer that God has shown him the future. God has shown him that Babylon will fade, but no other kingdom will touch its glory apart from the kingdom of God.

Babylon, Rome, Greece, Medes, America

When you and I engage the world where they are we open up a door for the Gospel to move.

Daniel basically shows up and says, Listen I know you are worried about your kingdom, and that will end at some point, but it won’t matter anyway, because the kingdom of God is coming to upend all other kingdoms.
