Talk a little about the last few weeks and why prayer is important
Talk about how it can be hard to pray when things are not going well and the Lord seems far away

Body

Read Acts 1: 4-8
Talk about how it is important to not worry about details that serve us, rather worry about details that serve the Kingdom of God and the Lord
Talk about how we are supposed to obey and work towards the will of the Lord
Read Acts 1: 12-14
Talk about the importance of prayer and the reason we look to the Lord in times of trouble instead of doing what we think everyone else is doing.
Talk about how our power and authority comes from the Holy Spirit, which necessitates not only the reason to pray, but also the reason to do and act

Conclusion

“If the Holy Spirit is the divine gift which empowers and guides the church, the corresponding human attitude towards God is prayer.”
Talk about how this is one of the reasons for which we pray.
Talk about the path to receiving Holy Spirit and His power is through prayer
Talk about how stagnant prayer lives can be a resemblence of static movement in our Christian lives.
Talk about how a pool or a pond will begin to stagnate and become spoiled with the flow of water is cut off.
Talk also how the same pool or pond will have no choice but to overflow if the flow of incoming water remains, but the flow of outgoing water stops.
