Greatful for Mourning blessed, are they that mourn.
Greatful for Mourning blessed, are they that mourn.
There comes a time in your life where you come to a realization that individually we are spiritually bankrupt before a very holy, Perfect and awesome God.
And in all truth, every bit of our righteousness is like filthy rags before God, who is all perfect. All Holy, all righteous.
As a result of recognizing how far our sin has separated us from this Holy, holy, holy God.
Our sins have separated us from God and the truth is we have no hope. We need someone to be able to stand in the gap on our behalf to pay the penalty for our sin. If we ever to come to salvation.
Because the Scripture makes it very clear. I like to challenge unbelievers with this, especially those that have some knowledge of the scriptures, I like to ask, how are your sins forgiven. Well many sinners don't believe that they're sinners, so that's a tough question, and they don't even believe that they're a sinner, but if they do sense that they are a sinner, they're stumped because the answer is without the
shedding of blood there is no forgiveness or remission of sin.
nd that's new covenant and Old Covenant, New Covenant,
Hebrews 9: 22 But Jesus the one only true Messiah when He came. He paid our debt. And he continually offers everyone salvation.
He paid our debt. And he continually offers everyone salvation. But we have to be willing to acknowledge our sin.
And then repent, and then turn from it, but a missing ingredient in much of the body of Messiah today is a godly sorrow, which is true mourning.
Pauls gospel was for we preach Christ crucified
So there needed to be repentance toward God, he also brings in a godly sorrow that works toward salvation.
So a godly sorrow that works to repentance that leads to salvation, that was Paul's methodology in his gospel.
That's a part, thats really lacking is this waiting for godly sorrow, which is a sense of mourning.
When we realize that we are forgiven, immediately there's a sense of comfort
here's a sense of relief because God, in fact has forgiven us. So Blessed are they who mourn their sin and repent
That's an expounding on what the Lord was saying here, they will receive forgiveness, They will have reconciliation, and they will have a shalom, in their heart, concerning God, plus the greatest benefit, they will gain everlasting life.
We could stop right there because that guy's is the good news of salvation. We will rejoice in God's mercy and grace. From this moment throughout all eternity. Because Jesus has saved us from hell, and given us His peace.
His love and purpose for our lives. That's why we among all people are blessed beyond measure. And if you have yet to believe that you have a much greater revelation to come from God is our greatest salvation on who ever believes.
He has comforted us in the realization that all of our sinful wrongdoing. All of our sinful thought patterns. Everything is forgiven. When God forgives, it is blanked forgiveness.
Too often we still forgive, In part, but we reserve. Total forgiveness. It is hard for humans to extend complete forgiveness, but it's easy for God. It is easy for him to extend full forgiveness,
This is why it's so important that there be a place in the salvation process for a mourning for our sinfulness.
I'm so glad I believe I got saved the right way. God gave me revelation, first and foremost of my own heart of the sinful state that I was in. I saw all kinds of chords of black and ugly, like vines that were around my heart strangling it, it was like my heart was trying to live through these vines but it was black and ugly of course I think it helped that God showed me through things i saw at a show one day of how a person looks after taking drugs and smoking
I mean you could hear women go, Just by looking at these ugly displays and God used that site to completely take away my desire for cigarettes and drugs
God allowed me to see my heart to that was in a worse condition than than those displays. My heart was being strangled, all my life I was just barely breathing. He showed me how far my sins separated me from a holy God.
And only then did I realize how desperate I was for a Savior. I needed help out of my situation. I cried out to God for a very long time, nobody was around . I was just in a season of fervently seeking God.
doing drugs and smoking. living to stay high. But in the midst of that season of rebellion. God reached down and rescued me. And I've been eternally grateful. From that day
I've never regretted that five hours of mourning my sin and Scripture just simply says, it's called godly sorrow, a sorrow that doesn't lead to life to death, it leads to life and that brokenness led me to a place of knowing. First, how far my Senate separated from me from God and how desperately I was in need of a Savior. I went through a mourning. God stepped in. He saved me. And immediately I found relief in my soul. And even in my body, and definitely in my spirit, spirit, soul and body were comforted by God. But you know comfort isn't the only thing that God gives us. I believe this verse as most verses in the Bible has layers of meaning. In fact, I don't believe any of us here, or all of us combined have full revelation of John 3:16
Most of us can maybe quote it by heart, but every verse of God is a well of salvation. It's a well of Revelation. That's why God is saying continually come and drink. There is always more for God to reveal always want us to consider some aspects of mourning and comfort
Salvador Dali's painting of the crucifixion
Most people have the image of the crucifixion of people looking up at a cross . And there's your Jesus hanging and people are looking up. Salvador Dali's painting is a painting from how God the Father was looking down, totally different perspective of how the father was looking at his son. And the moment I first saw it, I broke into tears because I had never seen Jesus die from the father's perspective. Scripture is revealed that God Himself. Mourns Jeremiah 48 Let's all turn there. Jeremiah 48 We read a God, weeping, I mean, this is so foreign to most people
We read a God, weeping, I mean, this is so foreign to most people, people do not think that God can weep well if we are made in his imprint in His likeness and image, it means that a lot of things that we do, God does. If we're made in his impression.
In Jeremiah 48 God saw, sinful, rebellion and hardness of heart. Whenever God sees that it breaks his heart. Because God is not willing that any person on earth should perish. His heart's desire is that everyone would come to a saving knowledge of who His only begotten Son that leads to life and thats the only pathway to forgiveness
Luke 19:41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.
Matthew 23:37-39 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
I have good news for you, pressure is going to increase. Now, I want to encourage you to let the pressure, press you closer to the Lord, rather than drive you from him. Pressure and intensity and trouble should always make the Lord, our first refuge. Listen, Do not become devil conscious as the first sign of trouble. Many believers immediately go after the devil, and most of the time it's God wanting to get our full attention. Have you ever seen the inside in that Scripture. He makes me to lie down in Green pastures. He makes me lie down, the shepard just takes the ear of the sheep and twists, and I will go wherever that twist will lead. He leads us to lie down. So the next time you get the flu, say, God, what do you want to speak to me about in every trial, the voice of the god, the voice of God is active and alive, and ready to be revealed. Ready to bring understanding. That's why it's the first sign of trouble become God conscious, not devil conscious
Jesus said and John 16: 33 in the world you will have tribulation but be encouraged. I have overcome the world.
when we suffer with the Jesus ,
what happens we experience a rich deep depth of fellowship with Him, that we cannot have in any other way.
let's just turn to the Lord in prayer.
blessed, are they that mourn. Yes, those who mourn for their sin. we want to receive the comfort Father. Reconciliation peace of mind that comes in a genuine heart that's broken. Or I will dwell with Him who is of a broken humbled and contrite spirit with him and trembles it my word
for this gets your attention when people are in the state of mourning brokenness. Let's say today that mourn in grief that your comfort wil superl abound in their loss. Lord you will always come alongside us in our pain.
Are you trying to get it across to us, blessed are they who mourn, and suffering. Because you are God and will comfort us. You understand you feel our suffering because you are a God who understands it far more than all of us put together.
and You will support us right there you'll witness in our trials where we will experience great comfort, even to a place of being able to rejoice in a state of affliction in a state of affliction because there will be a richness of your presence, which is inexpressible and full of glory.
Blessed are they that mourn in intercession, for they will be comforted by knowing that you are in fact, listen. Amen
