Inspiration of the Word of God

Today is Memorial Day. And today we remember the men and women who fought for our country. Fought for our freedom. I am always inspired by these men and women who gave their all for each and every one of us and I am inspired of their dedication, honor to our country.
Don’t you love to be inspired?! Today we are inspired by the memory of those who fought for us. But there are many ways to be inspired. A good book for example can inspires us. We hear stories of adventures like Robinson Crusoe or Huckleberry Finn, and these stories inspire us to be adventurous.
Maybe we read a story of a war hero who represents the reason we celebrate Memorial Day, and we are inspired by their bravery, and honor to serve for the people of our country.
The most or should be the most inspirational book every written is God’s word. God’s word can will inspire you to live a life to the fullest, and even inspire others to follow that same path. The 66 books of the bible will cover all questions in your life.
The key message from all of these works is of the Love of God.
That love that God teaches us in His word needs to be our inspiration each and every day. God has shown us this time and time again to inspire us to be His disciples… His students of His word, and embrace the world to understand this message of love. To understand that God loves us so much that He knew the only way for us to receive true salvation was to come from His only Son Jesus to go to the cross for each of us. Even the sinner that I am… God loves me that much.
[Rom 5:8 NLT] 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Unity of the Old and New Testament
The message is consistent and rings true through the Old and New Testament. God’s desire and hope, is we all learn of the Love of God to guide us each and every day. Not only to be believers in Jesus Christ, but to be disciples / students of Jesus Christ!
[Rev 12:11 NLT] 11 And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
God knew from the beginning in the Garden of Eden with sin poisoning the blood of man that there was only one way to bring true salvation, and that was through the perfect atoning blood of Jesus Christ. God’s Word is aligned in the prophecy of Jesus and the coming of the Messiah which was prophesied in Isaiah, Daniel, and Psalm’s.
Isaiah talks of the coming Messiah and this was 600 years before Jesus walked on the earth. The Bible is the true word of God. It is His design for us in our lives.
God knew that we will encounter obstacles, we will run into difficulties. But, if we use God’s Word to instill our thoughts as we walk in Faith He will guide us. I love what scripture has to say on this.
[Psa 19:7-11 NLT] 7 The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. 9 Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair. 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.
[Psa 119:104-105 NLT] 104 Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. 105 [Nun] Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
[2Ti 3:16-17 NLT] 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
God inspired men over the centuries, and breathed His divine words to their hearts, and to write these words down for us to be given the power to overcome our enemy Satan.
God inspired these men to write His words to create the word of God for our consumption in our everyday walk with Him! Glory to God! God made it as easy as he could.
That is how we build our faith. By building our relationship with God each day in His word directing our feet along the path. The more time you spend with God, the deeper your faith will grow, and in that faith you have great power through the Holy Spirit.
[Psa 119:9-11 NLT] 9 [Beth] How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. 10 I have tried hard to find you--don't let me wander from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Strong Faith will change you from the inside

The more time we spend with God the deeper our faith, and this changes you from the inside out. I am talking about God’s word changes how we think, how we react, how we feel, and who we are. We become new creatures!
Billy Graham used to say in his messages of hope to the world a story of the war to keep us from spending time with God.
A grandfather was sitting by a fire with his grandson, and just enjoying the creation surrounding them in the world. His grandson being inspired by his grandfather’s stories and wisdom listened intently to his grandfather.
As he spoke he told his grandson of a war that battles on within each of our beings. This battle was like two wolfs in our bodies, and the battle was constant.
One of the wolfs was bad, and was filled with hatred, envy, pride, anger, and rage.
The other wolf was good, and filled with compassion, love, joy, humility, and truthfulness.
The grandson asked his grandfather: “Granddad? Which wolf wins the battle?”
His grandfather answered him: “The one you feed”
You see. When we accept Jesus Christ as our savior we are planting the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into the inner circle of our influence of our being. We become a new creation. We are born again to live our lives as Jesus showed us how to live.
[2Co 5:17 NLT] 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
I was listening to Dr. Charles Stanley the other day while on the tread mill. His sermon was on “Taking Control of Your Thoughts”
What a great sermon, and I love Dr. Stanley and how he teaches straight from the Word of God. He says not to take his word for it… Take it from God! Pull your bible out and read it. Glory to God!
There was a portion of the sermon where Dr. Stanley conveyed principles of sowing, and how the need to get our thoughts to be aligned with God is essential:
We sow a thought we reap an action
We sow an action we reap a habit
We sow a habit we reap a character
We sow a character we reap a destiny
You can see what you choose to sow will inspire what you reap. If we feed the Holy Spirit within us with the inspired Word of God; our faith will grow and we learn to trust in God, and we will grow stronger each day!
If we choose to be inspired by thoughts of any of 1000 sins… then we will reap actions that portray our relationship with that sin. That is when we feed the flesh not the Holy Spirit. You have to apply God’s word for the Holy Spirit to be powered up in your life.
Going unchecked these sins grow into habits and then change our character! Look at Harvey Weinstein… He fed his fleshly desires… and now he is reaping his destiny…
See the devil will lie to you and start off by making you think “Oh what harm could this possibly be?!” I am not hurting anyone, and what difference am I making to the world?!”
The problem is you take your eyes off of God, and when we do that we fall just like Peter did when he was walking on water to Jesus.
[Mat 14:28-30 NLT] 28 Then Peter called to him, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water." 29 "Yes, come," Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted.
Peter started to see the chaos… the distractions around him when he took his eyes off of Jesus. This is what happens when we do the same, and our habits change our lives and impact the people around us… the ones we love. They change who you are and the character of the sin, and you become its prisoner.
Now you are trapped.
The consequences are severe and, in some cases, can take your life. Look at the thought of planting in children that you can choose to be a girl or a boy if you want. You have this choice, and it doesn’t matter how you were born a boy but feel you are a girl … well that is ok… But, the consequences in the end can be terminal. There is case study after case study from places like John’s Hopkins on the negative psychological impact of this type of teaching. And if this type of distraction goes unchecked by the truth of God’s word… there can be severe depression in the to the point where the person who had the change takes their own life. These are not the plans of God. God wants everyone to experience the freedom of His LOVE!
[Psa 119:9-11 NLT] 9 [Beth] How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. 10 I have tried hard to find you--don't let me wander from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
If we sow the thought of following God’s commands as Psalm 119:9-11 tells us, then we reap an action of reading God’s Word. If we read God’s Word, we sow the action of building habits and a relationship of faith in God that aligns with the Word of God. Then by continued habits of being a new creation and transformed the habits sown will reap a character. This is the new creation! Glory to God, and the final is the sowing of a Godly character by reading habitually God’s Word due to the actions you took with the thought that was planted… you now have a DESTINY that was pre-ordained by God! This not only saves you… but gives your friends, your family strength as well. God makes the first steps so easy.
[Rom 10:9-13 NLT] 9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced." 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved."

External Evidence

Finally, the External Evidence is why you are here today!
You look great! This shows your character… who you are. You are here because you a believer in Jesus Christ, and through continued growth we all strive to become followers of Jesus Christ. We are all on different levels of our walk with God. But, if we continue to refresh the Holy Spirit in us, and
How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!
When we become the new creatures… people notice you, and sometimes they watch real close to see who you are and what makes you tick. Some will stay at a distance and only view what you do and how you react. But, there are those that will see what you do, and how you act, and they find they want more. This is the zeal of your character that helps other to see the love of Jesus Christ through our actions.
There are those in the world that we will not get along with for whatever reason. We are called to love them, but don’t frustrate yourself in chasing them. Sometimes it can be like trying to catch a chicken on a farm. Not an easy task, and can be very frustrating. Just pray for them that they will see God’s will for their lives.
The key to all this is to understand that the inspired Word of God teaches us to Love one another. That is the key to understanding the world as God sees it. If we put love in our hearts and stop the fleshly desires of money, power, selfish desires, you will win…
God’s word tells us that we have all fallen short of the glory of God. But, God gave us a gift in His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus showed us how to love when He went to the cross. That was His external evidence of how majestic His love was for us. Those nails did not hold Him to the cross… it was His love for us and knowing that He needed to overcome death on the cross to do it.
Centuries ago a Jewish Poet named: Meir Ben Isaac Nehorai and he wrote this poem which are words in the Hymn “The Love of God”
Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made, were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade, to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry, nor could the scroll contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky
He loved us that much. Glory to God!
Today if you have confessed that Jesus is the Messiah, and you believe in your heart… you are free, you are forgiven, you can take the Word of God be inspired, and become an inspiration of the good news… the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Inspire someone today.
It will change you, and all those around you!
